I'm having a hard time with the allied conquests mainly because I cannot keep up with the onslaught of infantry and small tanks. I'm not sure exactly how to push forward because there's like 30 enemy troops on the frontline. For every unit I kill it is replaced the next turn in a seemingly never ending loop while my allies are killed off. If I take a city it is quickly surrounded and taken back.
It's really frustrating that the paraspam has been replaced with the infantry spam, except you cannot kill them as quickly like you could in WC3 so they keep piling up. Is there a way to counter this?

1) Have a good base near the battlefront (preferably with airport)
2) Achieve force concentration with STRONG troops (fighting fire with fire)
3) Support your advance by air (& with navy if possible)
4) At the start, be aggressive in North Afica, defensive in Europe & the Pacific (however, whenever possible, attack!)
5) Support your allies (except when they are going to commit suicide)
6) If you failed to turn thw tide early on, defend until the enemy nations attacking you have exhausted all their armies.
7) Upgrade your tech tree.
8) Use gens early on if possible.

William Halsey Jr.Something to keep in mind: What will the AI attack next? I'm talking about the very next immediate thing that the AI attacks because the AI never ever think ahead, not even in tandem with his own units. Each unit will lunge at whatever target it likes. "Every man for himself" if you will. Learn to watch how they think. Usually, the most favorite target is either: a city, or an unit with the biggest HP (for bombing or nuking), or the unit with the lowest hp/def (usually tanks who can strike multiple times, making multiple kills, they will do that if given the opportunity) or a group of targets where they can hit for maximum damage to them even if they accidentally hurt their own (that's for the rocket artillery AI controls) Note: they prefer to choose a valid target that they can shoot down within range. If something is out of range for them, they may or may not go in an attempt to get closer to that selected target, but long as they're able to strike at something on the way, they will take the shot on that turn, then on the next turn, they will move closer and closer, but they will take an opportunistic shot at whatever is around. If you can figure out what the AI is going to do the very first next thing (remember, the AI doesn't even know what the second next thing it would do!) then you have a far better chance of beating the AI because you have an understanding of your enemy. And do what Nobunaga Oda recommend, those are valid and excellent tactics. I've used some of them at any time, or a whole another thing at other times.

As I understand Your tech tree upgrades are not very high. In that case the best idea in conquests is to defend in the very begining. Let enemy forces to attack Your cities. Be prepared to hold first wave. Start to attack right after enemy's wave is killed. But do not wait defending for too long as it will cause collapse of Your allies before You will build up country's economy.
