Hey guys,
Recently downloaded this game on my phone and have been having a blast. There are a lot of areas that I'm having trouble with and hoping you guys might have some information.
First off
Do your covered eye generals passively gain XP and skills depending on the units and how well they do? If so, it it a long slow process or do they have to survive or...?
First off part 2:
Is it worth spending medals on upgrading generals or would one be better off just saving and buying generals? I saw the thread about upgrading the no eye'd guys but I'm talking about promoting your generals. (2ndLT > Lt > Cpt so on)
First off part 3:
With the covered eyes generals, is it worth investing in them at all or am I better off waiting till ive got everything else im going to get.
Secondly:
Do generals only affect the unit they are with? Or if you have other armor around an armor general do they gain buffs?
Secondly part 2:
Is there a secret to keeping your generals alive beyond not engaging them in combat? I find most missions and my unsuccessful attempts at conquest ending with all my generals having died off sometime around mid game.
Lastly: Best way to earn medals? Doing the missions to unlock some generals is a pain as some missions I feel I just cannot complete because of a super general on the other side taking 1 damage and dealing out 70+
Thanks in advance to any answers you all can give.

First off, 1. No. Passive xp isn't in this game unfortunately. The only way to rank them up is to spend medals. 2. kanue might have info about that. 3.It's best to get your final generals before upgrading the Commanders. Guderian, Govorov, Goring, Patton etc.

Secondly,
1. The general only affects the unit he is on. The stars add damage, and the skills only apply to that unit.
2. If you have low level generals, then in most cases they will die in some harder conquests and missions are just difficult in the first place. You can look to buy generals that start off with increased rank. For example, Goring can be bought with 280 extra hp. That's the max by the way.
3. There is a thread in the Planning Room asking that exact question. If it's not there, check the Military Intel Compound.

Thank you for the information. Regarding ranking up generals. Does increasing rank add stars randomly or do you get to choose what is upgraded?
Also why are there some generals with 3 bronze looking stars in a stat and other with silver/gold? Are they different tiers of the stars? So going from 5 bronze would result in 1 silver?
Also, faster way to heal units? Takes about 15 turns to get one of my tanks from 50% to full with no general.

For the upgrading: On your commanders, you can upgrade hp seperately, stars seperately, and their skills seperately. Bought generals like Guderian you can only upgrade their hp. So you can't take a 2 star artillery general and turn him 5 stars.
Regarding stars, I'm not sure myself. You don't need 5 bronze for 1 silver or anything. I think that the first 2 stars are bronze, 3 and 4 are silver, and 5 is gold. It's probably just to add an effect instead of looking at 5 bronze stars and asking "The best general in the game has bronze stars?"

Oh and for healing units, all units have passive hp regen. The skill Supply increases it if your general is on the unit. There is also a tech that increases regen rate in cities. And just being in a city will increase the regen of a unit. If you click on a city, you can see in the top left there is a little medkit with a number like 2 or 6 or 10. That is the hp regen per round on that city. Higher level city=higher regen.

I could answer them all but i'm lazy Anyways generals only are for 1 unit and do not affect other units Generals with airforce starts will deal more damage with airstrikes though

Lord Mountbatten has already answered most of the questions so I will add a few. Eye-Covered GeneralsIn my opinion, it is not worth upgrading eye-covered dudes because you can buy better generals from academy at cheaper prices. They can be useful when you do not have enough generals to fill in the 6 spots in your campaign/conquest; adding a bit of strength to the units. Keep Your Generals AliveIt is very normal that your generals die in the mid of campaigns. One way to prevent that is to utilize terrain and flanking. Some terrain has damage reduction bonus when you are on. e.g. Forest reduces damage from tank or mountain reduces damage from artillery. You can check this info by clicking on a piece of terrain and look for the info on your upper left. Flanking reduce the enemy morale which causes them to deal less damage. So always flank your target before attacking whenever it is possible. Finally, it is a good idea to have artillery generals at the beginning because their attack cannot be countered (mostly). Earning Medals- finish 2, and 3 stars countries in 39/43 conquests. (I also did 1 star country) - Progress through campaigns as far as you can with your current generals. - Replay easy campaigns at higher difficulty. - Build medals as early as you can. Does attacking from multiple sides in a turn increase the damage each unit does? Or is the morale hit from flanking the only combat buff/debuff you get from positioning?

Does attacking from multiple sides in a turn increase the damage each unit does? Or is the morale hit from flanking the only combat buff/debuff you get from positioning? When the morale decreases once(between two enemies), the damage it deals -5%; decrease twice(get surrounded), -10%; when morale increases(happens randomly when kill an eneny), +5%.
