hello people of the ew4 and wc modding community, first of i am going to tell that i cancel the WW1 mod, i lost a lot of files and picking it up after the break i took is too hard. I am going to get used to modding and learn about it until everything goes as if it is nothing, cause i've stumbled upon lots of issues and problems while creating the mod, wich demotivated me to make it.
*I AM STILL PLANNING TO MAKE IT AND RELEASE IT SOMETIME NEXT YEAR IF INTREST IS HIGH ENOUGH, I WOULD ASK OTHER MODDERS TO NOT MAKE A WW1 MOD (still your choice though) SINCE I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT EASYTECH MODDING BEFORE MAKING A BIG PROJECT.*
Now, coming to something i am very intrested in, so called ''engine modding'' wich i am going to look in and hopefully release some engines. What i'll mean by this is changes to the standard base game to begin with. A simple example is a ''mod'' were the only thing that is changed is that all conquests use the WW2 planes. Or reversed, where all conquests use the jets. I'll list some categories here.
Simple engine mods/cosmetic changes
Like mentioned above, plane changes, troop changes, colour changes, style changes list it all, aslong as it is cosmetic and doesn't change the gameplay.
The thing with simple engine mods is that it gives you something to begin with, if you want to make a mod set in only a WW2 theme, you have a unlocked apk wich has all conquest using ww2 styled planes etc. My bet is that this is either the most or less used , since i myself can't even give more examples other then plane changes.
Medium engine mods/Gameplay changes
This can all be random, it would even be hard to make it in a theme of something. The thing with medium engine mods is that it changes gameplay, that means the cost of things, the damage and health of units, cities and everything else that can inflict or take damage. It could make all conquest for example only have level 1 airplanes, or let all of the cities have lvl 3(?) airplanes. So you have something to begin with if you want to have lots of health for your units. Also applying to medium engine mods is: Added cities. This would either go for mods that have 1 or more countries that are super strong, what i mean by this that if you want to make a mod where China is OP, there would be a engine mod that gives China more cities. Or just a mod that gives more cities to make the game more historcally accurate.
Special thing
Countries, i dont know if i put this to the total engine changes or medium engine changes, so i'll just put it here. There could be a engine mod adding all existing countries, or a engine mod adding all European countries, or just all Asian countries, its up to you.
Total Engine mods/almost separate mods
This would be things like map expansions, added units, new resources (are these things even added?) and that sorts of things. Probaly the lesser used one, since its ***** to do.
NOTES! This could be great to give people a base theme for a new mod, and it doesn't matter if you do only a simple engine mod, a medium or just everything mixed. For this idea to work the community (you guys) is needed. One thing i would like to add is, if this becomes something, don't go on a rampage and make 10 mods all adding one city, 1 country or 1 cosmetic change. Also, you shouldn't be changing the game, things like starting units, starting resources and backgrounds etc. It's up to the person who is going to use it where he is going to place units, and where he is going to give countries territories, so i would like people to for example just give historical accurate territories if you are creating a ww2 theme engine. Sorry for my broken english and random use of commas and capitals, and i hope this idea becomes something
