In the cold war campaign, it is hard to keep units alive for me. Everytime one of my tanks or artillery units get in range of an enemy missile silo they use so many rockets that within one turn my unit's hp is reduced to less then 50%. For example, as Hungary I tried to sneak Rommel on a tripple stacked heavy tank to sneak into south-western France, but before he got to Milan his hp was already reduced severely and the round after he was nearly killed. How do you stop something like this? It is very hard to get to the enemy missile silo's as a one star country because as soon as you managed you captured one, there are always 2 more missile silo's within range.

Yes! That's very annoying, especially for WTO countries. I had Vatutin on super tank die in 3 turns with minor damage from enemy troops...

Generals become far less necessary in 1950 than they were before imo. Air superiority wins the conquest, not generals as they get mowed down very quickly. Therefore to win as a 1 star country, you should pick one far from powerful enemies. Iraq and Egypt come to mind.

The only thing I can think of the help is to upgrade the tanks technology so it comes with missile defence, but this could be hard to do if your not near it already.

I havent tried Iraq yet I belive so I will give him a shot. I tried it with Egypt multiple times but everytime, after I captured half of Africa, I run into large groups of Brazilian, Mexican and American forces, who quickly capture all territories and within turns I have been pushed back to Alexandria and Cairo. But I will try it again as I havent tried it in a while and my tech has been upgraded allot since then, including near-max tank with lvl 2 assault. So hopefully it will go smoother next time.

I will upgrade that yeah, the air defense of my tanks is just lvl 1, but once I have the resources I can upgrade it to lvl 2 as I have already upgraded the tank tree fully, apart from thelast armor upgrade, the 10% less damage against nukes and lvl 2 air defense.

This is what I did as NATO (Europe): Basically, I moved my gens and army in France and had them stationed there, so they were out of range of the Soviet missiles. I just defended and once the enemy's resources ran out, I counterattacked. USSR didn't capture a single city in Europe this way (except Athens because it was too far away)

it is okay, but I'll go more in depth on how I finished it. In depth guides is what helped me through all ET games. Without them, I would have really sucked at it.
