So...I finally did it. I got Guderian. The shining German general plated with its many wonders. I also have Leeb and Messe. It also just so happens that I have also reached Cold War normal mode. Of course (as a noob), I am still having a hard time with the hard mode. My technology isn't terrible, but could use more upgrading (tanks are fully upgraded up to Pacific War save for armor, infantry is a mess, artillery is only partially upgraded around Pacific War, and everything else is terribly upgraded).

What should I do now, general and tech wise?

Upgrade Guderian? (I already added two extra skills on him, explosive and rumor, no upgrades to those though)

Get a new general (Nimitz could be useful for naval missions, but I need to do his missions. On the other hand, there is Rundstedt and Konev, and I did all of their missions.)?

Upgrade that technology?

But if you insist to continue then you have to ask some questions: "What is really important? What makes my team capable of winning battles and what makes my generals strong enough?". Well, the answer is "medals". So you have to avoid any loss of medals if possible. That means you have to defeat all Invasions. To do so you need:
1. 4 generals. You have two capable generals for Art and Tank Invasions. And to be honest Messe is quite good for Inf Invasions for some distance (and possibly he can be your Inf general to the end if you will make decision to keep him). Crowd tactics and Rumor are great skills for Inf Invasions. So the only problem you have now is Navy. If you can unlock 40% discount for Nimitz, - do it! If not, then buy Nagumo or Mountbatten (it is not a waste, because you need 2 Navy generals anyway).
2. Technology. It is very important for Invasions and there are different possibilities how to get resources for Tech tree.
