Hey guys! I’ve reached the Pacific campaign now with 1200 medals in the cash with Manstein, Messe and Crerar as my generals (all non-upgraded). As Pacific campaign appears to be more about naval than land, I thought of buying a new general. I really do need a naval general (was thinking of Halsey as a cheper alternative to Nimitz) or the ones I have will do the job?

I completed a ton of the earlier levels of the campaign with unupgraded Leeb and Messe, later getting the help of Guderian. So, not that you need it, but it would help. Concerning the hard levels, you can do a ton of the land missions on hard as well as some combined land and naval missions without the naval general. So...you should be fine for now.
Though if you need that naval general, I had also thought about Halsey until I did some stuff on Domination and Conquest mode and was able to get Nimitz with 20% discount.

Well, then I would do the Pacific and the hard campaigns of WW2 Europe to get more medals, or maybe a conquest, in order to buy a top Navy general.
Another question, not concerning the price, should I go to Nimitz or Yamamoto as my first (and top) navy gen?

Mid-Pacific navy tech is enough to get you Nimitz on 40% discount. However, I must say that I had used Messe as 1* navy gen & Guderian as 3* air gen so I recomend you try to max out Pacific navy tech first. |
