One must go! I need to free up a spot for training and I don't know which one should go. I love Fatimah's econ skills, while Sakurako seems very versatile. The truth is, I won't really use either. Fatimah has no combat capacity and Sakurako has very low rank, and it doesn't seem worth grinding for her. Any ideas?

IMO,Fatimah will generate gold food ect..you'll need later, getting rid of her will be a BIG mistake, you would soon regret. Not a fighter granted, never should be used as one,not meant to be. Economic master=double supplies, Architecture =half spent on upgrades Why would anyone consider getting rid of her??

Because Combat is better than/mkre worth than resources. Sakurako is a great support. She can be a navy and artilery gen when upgraded and cavalry in desperate situations as well. Plus with the Banner Abbiloty, if you are that micromanaginf, you could buy banners with 5 trade stars in a campaing, give her, peform the attacks and sell it with 5 trade stars, no loss in medals

For example Lannes, Sophia or Golitsyn are very aggressive, while Washington and Wellington are more defensive. Fatimah has the attack of the unit to which she is assigned.

If you can find the small amount of real-world money that it takes to open slots and keep them all, do it. Your flexibility will rise markedly, and when you don't want to grind for the higher level princesses you can have fun playing as smaller nations for the challenge. You'll need Fatimah then. It's not much money for a permanent and marked improvement to your game-play experience.
I was stubborn about slots and regrouped Fatimah, and I regret it now.

I have come to a realization that Sakurako is weam because of her hybridness Fatimah is better imo as she technically deals more dammage as she can get more units out with the money boost and her Architecture + Econ Master is a big boost as the Payout of a city comes earlier
Idr but if she has Defence Art, she is a good city defence general

All the advanced players have Sakurako, and she is a beast.
