Can Berthier beat Golitsyn if he is fully regrouped ?

I think it would be a draw, because they have the same offensive skills. Assuming they were on the same unit, a duel between the two would just be decided by random. The advantage that Berthier has over Golitsyn is that he has the geography skill, so he is able to move better than his Russian counterpart.

I would recommend him, if, and only if, you are willing to spend the time/money necessary to train him up. I don't have him, so I can't speak from personal experience, but he is one of the best cavalry generals in the game, in my opinion second only to Lan. That's my two-cents.

Ah, that's very true. If you don't already have a five star business general that is definitely a possibility. That's also the case for Lan.

Yes. Berthier is good if you do not want to waste an item slot on giving Golitsin geography.
