I bought a decent naval commander, and still cannot get through this bleeping scenario. The Soviets are useless in this one as they never ever make it to japan and the very very few who do are pretty much useless as their strength is almost nothing. I do not know why ET didn't leave the progression of era's alone and keep them like WC3. This is very frustrating

I didn't need a naval general for this one, just a lightly upgraded Guderian, Leeb, and Messe. The Soviets will always be useless, including the hard scenario where they turn on you. On normal, it is advisable that you try to use speed to try and save what troops the Soviets are sending, and later trying to utilize Rumor to question mark the general in Tokyo. After Tokyo, I would suggest that operations be continued by both your troops (that are probably battered) and paratroopers to finish the mission.
On hard, skip the trying to save the Soviets (as their generals WILL survive) and instead trying to take Tokyo as fast as possible, aided by Rumor. Then deal with their generals (by Rumor), and then ending normally, plus a nice atom bomb.
Basically, Rumor is your friend. I had Rumor on all of my generals, though unupgraded.

Well I have been stuck on this one for at least a week also but in the end I managed to complete it with Messe Graziani and Nagumo. The trick is in the beggining: you shall land as soon as possible using your naval forces for assistance during the landing procedure and immediately after gaining a foothold you shall aim for the cities putting out everyhing in your way. Well Tokyo will be destroyed by the time you reach it so it will not be a big deal but soon as it is under your control start manufacturing heavys and it will be a piece of cake with them to conqueror the last 2 cities. As for Nagasaki you can either capture it by destroying it with your ships and send a single troop at the begining or use the atomic bomb on it but you will need the city above the first you capture.
Well it worked for me at least but note that every gameplay is different, maybe russians will be more useful in one of them.

This is the only scenario so far I’ve got only one star in completion. The Japs did some massive damage to my troops even before they landed. But as I had Manstein, I managed to get a bridgehead and began conquering south Japan. Used the city with a level III airport to nuke the southernmost city and parachuted troops there. Then I made my way to the north of the main Island where I used my Air Force again, this time to kill the last general and parachute into the northernmost city. Well, there should be much better ways to do it, since I was a complete noob the time I did it.
