Rommel's missions are known to be painful, so you don’t need to worry about getting him if you have Nikolai.

I'm giving this guy 5 stars. To all of you stuck on Destination Berlin using the Messe and Leeb combo, sell them and get Vatutin instead. Or just sell Messe and try to collect more medals. This guy helped me get 3 stars on Destination Berlin in 19 or so turns. Definitely worth it.

In fact, Vatutin is quite dangerous when he’s an antagonist and he is commanding a heavy tank or a super tank.

Leeb kind of sucks as artillery sucks in general early game.

Leeb kind of sucks as artillery sucks in general early game. Yeah. This is why I bought Zhukov over him. Leeb can be super good, but like Rokossovsky, the medals needed to achieve that are too high. Fortunately, many beginners are happy with him and Messe. Nobunaga Oda used the duo a lot, for example.

Yet I prefer to give Konev explosives because I plan on maxing him anyway. I heard that a General with Marshal rank and purple rank with maxed Artillery HP on a triple-stacked Rocket Artillery or a single Super Artillery has like 800 HP.

Look at zhukov in 1980. And nice. I gave mine mechanist and maxed him out. That always works the best for me as I can just dump him and he’ll be op. But you do you!

I think the Soviets are the most versatile faction in the game. Super Tanks and Super Rockets as special units, which are arguably the best in the game. All purchasable generals with the exception of Bagramyan are quite strong, and many of them are ranked among the best in the game. Vatutin and Rokossovsky are beasts on Tanks (With Chuikov packing quite a punch, though his skillset is meh), Zhukov and Konev are amazing at Artillery (Govorov also hits quite hard, but he has a meh skillset), Vasilevsky is great at Infantry and Kuznetsov is the Loch Ness Monster for enemy ships. Timoshenko is hyper fast and an amazing support general. I believe the fact that the Soviet Union is the most popular choice for a 3-star country in Conquest 1980 also supports this.

Very true. Vatutin is one of the few Soviet commanders that have my respect. He was brave, capable and creative. Killed in 1944, died like a warrior. I dislike most Soviet commanders because they committed atrocities. IDK if Vatutin also did, but I believe he didn’t since he’s also respected in the West.

But I think that is why he has low movement but is hard hitting.

Gone how do you feel about vatutin and end game buy. I personally like the idea as having another strong tanker is always awesome.
