Not wanting to buzzkill my own statement, but it feels a bit painful when you remember that Yamashita is largely unnecessary because he is useless in Modern War. Well, not useless, but very ineffective to the point where investing in him can be quite the waste of medals due to his high price. It doesn’t feel like a waste if it’s Mannerheim instead because Mannerheim is 700 medals cheaper and all of his useful skills start as Level 3. Also, same rank. Agreed. Mannerheim will be very little above 2000 medals with all his ideal skills at lvl 3. Fully upgraded guderian costs 6000 I believe, and yamashita with the same strength will be more than 3000, saving you about 1000 medals. Does the 6000 medals include his purchase price?

Nice! Konev's max upgrade cost must be a little below 6000 medals, then.

Back to the topic, yeah, Alexander is worthless as an artillery general compared to the likes of Leeb, Konev and even Zhang Z.Z. At least he’s not ridiculously priced like Govorov.

Quality: 3/5 (Not so bad but you wouldn't want him in your end-game HQ) Cost effectiveness: 2/5 (expensive)
This guy is obviously unworthy. Combining poor quality (skills) and expensive price, what could be worse? You don't even need to bother Leeb or even Konev to compete with him, as the existence of Zhang alone is enough to end this guy's whole career. He is one of the generals which I personally call 'awkward hybrid'. Not good at anything even artillery. You would never want him in your HQ.
He has 5 star artillery (actually pretty good), 3/5 mobility (also good), 2/4 air force (which is hardly useful on artilleries), and 2/3 star infantry (not useful at all), and 2 navy stars (also useless). An 'awkward hybrid' indeed..
His skills are artillery barrage (unreliable but not that bad), crossfire (not very useful on artilleries), and raider (Why?! Does easytech hate this guy so much??). They definitely don't add up. No one would use his infantry capabilities, but having an infantry skill is taking one slot which could have been used for an artillery skill.
Zhang outperforms him in all aspects. Zhang's artillery leader is more useful than his artillery barrage. Zhang's crossfire is at lv3 compared to his lv1. Ace forces is at least better than his raider. Zhang's infantry capability is also better than Alexander's with only 3 stars max. Also, he is more expensive than Zhang.
Combined with his expensive price, you would never want to get him inside your HQ. But if you want to buy him anyways, I recommend giving rumor on him as to not make him more useless. Don't mind his raider at all, upgrade his rumor.
Note: you know why you shouldn't be getting him considering his price and your limited HQ seat.

When Maxed, he is a better Infantry than Peng Dihuai, and Arguably a better Artillery than Zhukov or Govorov.

Noticeably in both Scenarios and Frontier mode, Alexander (And few other generals) has a six star on Artillery while it is not possible to promote his artillery stars to six stars from five under your possession
