What is the formula for calculating the medals recived on defense/attack? Do you mean the medals that you get and use to buy generals/items or the medals that you get in discount when upgrading nobility/rank? In the first case, I really don’t know, I do think it is randomly given. In the second, it is approximately 100 damage = 1 medal when upgrading.

I mean the medals earned to buy generals/items

I do not know if there is any formula to calculate the probability to earn a medal, but I guess it doesn’t correlate to the effectiveness of the attack.

Ok, thanks. I noticed that as well... even if the attack did over 100 damage, it still didn't earn medals, also even if a unit is trapped in the highest level of confusion, the attack still will not earn a medal... very interesting and annoying for farming medals.

Lucky roll. What I have seen, when the attack is substantial against a higher unit a medal is granted. Luck of the roll maybe?,but there must be some kind of formula, I would think.

It's most likely just a lucky roll, when attacking/defending. There is a RNG along with modifiers in place here imo.
You get a high roll, you get a medal. So there is no exact formula, excepting it does help to overpower in att/def along with terrain modifiers.

I wanna grind medals from Trafalgar, but I need Kate. I decided to restart because Dobeln dies easily. This time I got scharnhorst for 1st gen, and I got Sophia from Britain 1798. I see a video guide showing how to get Kate from Britain 1812, but I think Britain 1775 is easier. Which is the best pick here?

It is very easy since uk is strong. All you have to do is push hard to get philly then Kate is yours. And btw,you can still grind Trafalger, getting 8-12 medals without Kate. Why did Dobeln die so fast? He is a great inftry general. There is also a great way to grind for nobility Chain the Beast. You should find it.
