When in cities, both the plain warfare and the urban warfare bonus occur. You he gets + 5 from the plain fighting and + 15 from his urban fighting. If you have a medal, you will increase that damage to + 7 plain fighting + 22 urban fighting, or + 29 damage overall, which would be equivalent to lvl 6 urban warfare, which is not possible to reach. I agree plain fighting is better. If you upgrade his plain fighting and use him in a city, his damage will only be higher. Right. He can be a beast in a city against a plain with a medal. Get him big upgrades and he'll be great |

Or at least the medal and he will be decent. True. But only good for city fighting I should mention. So grabbing and holding cities he is good at. Everything else he is mediocre at. |

Hmm maybe when you use your best mechanized general to take a city before an enemy spam comes, then use slim to fend them off. Honestly I'll use a tank rather than an infantry general

Stars don’t matter as much, especially for someone whose output comes from his terrain bonuses. His movement is also quite great. But you wouldn’t buy heinrici who has 5 stars movement and rumor why by him? |

Cheap and can potentially be a fantastic infantry general. Naturally, Yamashita and Mannerheim and MacArthur are better than him, but if you can’t afford an infantry general with 1500+ medals, get Slim. Just follow Paulus's recommendation.
