My status,
Have Alexander lvl30 and joan cleo,all the others nearly there exception not Barbarossa yet.
Got Joan almost maxed healing skills.
Its been fun,and all but now i have hit inevitable wall,where i can't progress anymore,unless i hit that buy medals button.
Which i wont do,
So, if anyone who has not either fell to temptation, will give advice and knows the path without wasting $$$.
Please chime in.
Oh almost forgot my OP,it is good but frusrating as hell.
Please bear in mind this post will be modified.

Ok,lets get along with my OP.
My first point,more of a beef rather than an assessment.
Princesses,18 of them, are very static in
this version,they have to be placed on a city it seems but i only have 3 so far so i could wrong.
Yeah, they were nerfed to little of importance in my view.

I suppose you are in imperial age. Did you try conquests? With Alexander lvl30, Joan, and Cleopatra you should be able to do classical and medieval conquests easily. The conquests can give you crowns and resources.
Do you have the town Medina unlocked? There is Saladin, who is maybe more expensive than Barbarossa (the best is invest diamonds) but he is useful nearly to the end. With logistics he is one of the best cavalry generals.
And what about items? I advise to buy at least the common boots (+5 movement) for all your generals.

Thank you for the tip on Medina,i really need a better cav gen,other than Hannibal and huo quibing sorry for mispelling. Unlocking medina now,also have rome,which may get me ceaser i reckon. My weapons are rather sad,defense a little better,and got everyone booted with tall or better,alexander has steel boots. Not real busy with conquesting,in fact never finished one,very boring to me. Maybe i should though. |

On to a more positive aspects.
I really like the way ET,expanded the info on generals,also allowing more than 2 items to be used.
Also generals,although take some real time,to get,are easier than i had expected,less pressure on turn limits.

Conquests,are very labourious, once taken a capital,they move it to another.
You only have certain routes you can take,so forget about strategy.
On a more positive note,lvl3 and above cities you should keep and upgrade,so that they can't be recaptured.
Antoplay seems to work well once you get there where resources are high enough and high age lvl.
Finished only 2 conquests thus far,just today however,so wadda i know,right?

Diplomacy works well in your favor,especially when using 1* countries.
Literature is important to advance,Classical greece is the only best way i have found,unless later there is other ways.

Healing generals;
They are an great asset,only have Joan ,but have her lvl 9 heal.
Be warned tho,it will drain medals
So when i can,i let her rage build and all generals within 2 radius benefit for 3 turns.
Then i am good to go the next city.

Seige equiptment;
Cleo takes on siege cannon early as possible deals heavy blows at range to any tower.
Getting alexander close also once the wall is breached the city will fall.

Leonidias,is weak and pathetic not worth investing in except as in empire grinding as a swordsman,Hannibal same except in cavarlry.sorry,to ,for lovers of those great generals,they suck in this game however imo.

JOA also sucks as a fighter,but has healing skills.does her best as one.
She goes in the back,then mops up weak units when chance comes,also filling her in her rage bar.

It's the 1st time ET used this cartoon style to make its games, so they might not be very good at creating more unique features that distinguishes "Westerners" from "Easterners". However, IMO, the Asian gens still look somewhat distinct from their Western counterparts. |

Well I can at least reassure you that it is certainly possible to get to the end without spending any real money, I'm at the last campaign and haven't spent a penny on the game. Have you collected all the freebies from markets so far? Have you played the attack missions in Empire mode? They also have some freebies to collect. Is Mocte available to buy? He's well worth the 40k coins imo. |
