Aleksandr Vasilevsky , CountVonNumenor , Hobo Joe , I need a profile image of the chariot unit from Three Kingdoms. I need it to use as a model for the dwarven and Rhunic chariot. In fact, I also need help with all the dwarven cavalry. I'm going with the Goat Riders. Can anyoe else start working with me at the model images? I feel like I can't do this all by myself.

CountVonNumenor it's best to create separate. So what I suggest is crop the image to your desired way (with no background), then paste over existing textures. Make sure they're the same size as their previous textures. I believe you can edit the size of the images (so that you can have that size of an image in game) in one of the xml files (those files tell you the size of every individual part of the image). Makes me wonder, I believe trolls can be added to the game. Black Numenoreans as guards, etc.

Also, how do I replace the original textures? Please make me a list with all stuff I need. I guess I should have an unlocked apk of the game, a place where to search the files, and problably something else (all on PC, am I right?). The custom cav units such as chariots and cav might be the most difficult to make. Also, is that possible to create them completely by my own or borrow some textures from Three Kingdoms (that game might have some of the stuff I need). Also, are working on the mechanics (replacing gun fire with melee combat)?

CountVonNumenor You definitely need the unlocked apk to do the modding. I will need to get back home to look at the files. But as for animations, I have not even done anything with those. I can "improve" but not replace it yet.

I think I will concentrate first on infantry. I almost completed the Dwarves and Rohan. Now, which is the name of the file? I just need to put the new models above the original? Also, there will be a problem: because every nation will have unique units, I think there will a problem about the EW4 nations with same generic units. So we need to add new ones or how does it work?

Also, there will be a problem: because every nation will have unique units, I think there will a problem about the EW4 nations with same generic units. So we need to add new ones or how does it work? Note: This was hastily done to try help you out. There might be mistakes, but I hope it's readable. Sorry for the quite late reply, I've lost track of time surfing through these files. Anyways, if you can, have Google translate (some words within the xml are Chinese. Remember never play guessing games unless you want to mess around, etc), an image editing software (one that displays coordinates is best (that'll be GIMP)), and notepad. All coordinates are in xml. Open xml through notepad. Process of texturing 1. Prepare your texture. 2. Place over existing texture (know the size of both your texture and the previous textures and coordinates, all such is in in the xml (many xmls....find the suited xml (light inf, line inf, etc) and one that doesn't have a 1 at the end) 3. Edit xml to fit your new texture that is covering the old texture. Remember, always backup your files. Texturing is all about trial and error. But most importantly, have fun! Here's example: Let's say you want an Uruk Hai uniform. You want the Russian infantry to be the Uruk Hai. Go to army_lineinfantry.png. Find the russian infantry uniform. Unless stated, find the Russian infantry uniform in xml. Take coordinate in xml and match it in the png. Which is it closest to? That will help you determine what is what country's infantry it belongs to. Or you could find the Russian infantry uniform and then find in xml (2nd method's only if you understand how textures work, how they face, etc). To be very prepared and ready, it's best to look for the entire country's infantry. Place the texture over (or try use eraser to erase the unwanted uniform and then place texture over. I would love to see those results. By doing this, it can somewhat help me in texturing. I'm wondering if this suggested method works) If your units are too big, tone it down, or fix xml to allow it to show the texture ingame. If you don't tone down the texture size or fix up xml, the texture ingame will be cut off. Hope this helps. If there are any mistakes, alert me.

Aleksandr Vasilevsky , would it not be easier to make the nation's first, and then look for the uniforms? Maybe you or anyone else can add the nations needed, which would make my job easier in replacing textures. Can I also get an image/screenshot about how that XML file and its containing looks like? To make an easier idea about what I have to do. Also, when I access it, it will be containing codes or actual images? And can you tell me again please how to use the notepad? Thank you again and I am sorry for my lack of knowledge and understanding in this subject. Maybe anyone else, who is more talented in texturing can make the models. I will sent him the units needed when I will complete all nations. Anyways, thank you for tutorial!

This video makes me wonder if we can add a melee style of attack in the mod. Just watch how the infantry and cavalry attack. They attack just like in Three Kingdoms, but the result on the affected unit looks like it was hit by a cannon or rifleman. In short, just mask a bit the firing animation.

Not because it is my inability, but I think you are capable of doing it yourself. I forgot to tell you this, but, first: Take downloaded unlocked apk. Get Winrar Extract apk files into a different folder. You can now view all the files in there. Make sure you have the correct software to view such.

Aleksandr Vasilevsky , Personally, I'm feeling close to give up. There are too many things I still don't understand (I'm a total disaster at working on prograns). I will make all the unit models, but, unless I change my mind, I really want to give them to someone to create them for me. I'm more of a coordonator than an actual programmer, and I find many of these things difficult. I really want you to edit the nations! That would be a good blueprint for adfing the units. It is almost impossible on the standard game. We can have the first version only with the changed countries, and then in the second one also the units. Anyways in my original idea I was supposed only to give indication about how it should look like, not actually work on editing. But I will try whatever I can, if needed. Even thought, I think I found an easier way to introduce the new textures in one of BJ's videos. Also, please Bismark Junior, can you help me after finishing Bellum Romanum?

Current situation: - Dwarves: all infantry units textures created, waiting to be used - Rohan: all infantry unit textures completed, but not mounted - Gondor: all infantry unit textures completed - Harad: done only the concept for Mumakil (superheavy cavalry) - Mordor: only swordsmen - Misty Mountains: same as for Mordor - Isengard: all infantry unit concept textures done, but not used yet I didn't create any cavalry unit yet, and I hope to get your help, because I would not like to do all of this alone, especiallyas a total beginner. I would like to change thain menu image with this one: Attachments:

CountVonNumenor Modding is something that is not easy, and through time, you will understand. When I first started modding this game and other games, I did not understand too much. However, through many times of reading guides, experimenting, and exploring through files, I have gained much "experience" required for such a task. When things feel impossible, just tell me or anyone what the issue is before giving up. So, through time, you should be able to understand. Until then, I personally advise you not to give up yet. Also, could you PM me some of the units you created? I could try work on them.

Thank you for support! This really is helpful. I will create the images for replacing, then get the unlocked apk and get into action. I wanted someine to make tge European countries look like in Middle Earth, because a game already containing all countries needed would help me increadibly much in replacing their units. I could get some help from Mao, but he is at the moment busy helping Vasili. I would start working on the texture replacing one I get all the countries needed both in the game, and in the files I'm working on.

What you think about the Haradrim super heavy cavalry, the Mumakil? This is the model I will use in the mod. Attachments:
