I just saw that for 10K gold and then 50k gold, I can get some sort of an upgrade to the general's HP. And I have also seen that for certain challenges the other general(s) are "super charged".
What are these upgades?

A little increase of your hp. Actual value depends on current rank of gen. Click it without buying and you'll see, how many percents will be added.

Yes way worth the cost as it scales with your generals levels I think it's 190% with red for marshal tank I didn't look at the purple rank, but maybe max is 200% I may be wrong though.

Green banner when u reach pacific missions, red banner when u reach cold war and purple banner when u reach UN missions. Green and red upgrades are with gold, so getting them easy, but purple upgrade needs quite a lot medals (500) |

They are all worth it. I got my Manstein with the red banner giving him 190% health boost, and all skills maxed out with assault medal giving him a 90% chance to blitz. By the time I reach purple banner giving him 205% health boost I should have assault lvl 2 (100% chance to fight back after killing an enemy) making him extremely OP. If you don't have Manstein you can upgrade Guderian to the same stats but it'll cost a lot more medals. |

Buying purple rank is more effective than upgrade rank when your next rank costs 400 or more (may be not exactly 400 but something around it). Though it's not worth to upgrade your gen's rank before you got good crew and maxed their useful skills.

It is worth to do it in general, but there are other more important things. For example, upgrading rumour is very important for campaigns. Not for Guderian only, but for all your crew. |
