Hi. I'm new to WC4 and haven't played any of the previous games in the series. I'm working my way through the tutorial and have some questions.... 1) Is it possible to heal/fix damaged units? 2) Is it possible to instruct your units to 'dig in'/fortify and defend thier area? 3) I guess each village/town earns you money after every turn. Do you need troops in the town to get rewards from it or do you just need it within your colour territory? 4) If you occupy a village/town in enemy territory do you earn money from it? 5) Are air attacks limited by distance from the airfield? 6) Does terrain like mountains effect anything other than movement distance?
Sorry for the beginners questions but there's a real lack of in game help/guidance on this game.

1. Yes, some cities have a Red Cross on it, and those cities heal your units depending on the Red Cross level. 2. Well, you just kinda leave them there, and they defend automatically. 3. If it’s already yours, you don’t need troops on it. Although some generals have economic boosts like Tito, so if you leave generals like that in cities, you can make more money. 4. If it’s in enemy territory and you occupy it, you do indeed get money. 5. Yes. But you can upgrade the range later in the tech tree. 6. Some generals have skills which allow them to do more damage in certain terrains, I.e. Rommel in desert and Manstein in Plain.

Also on top of the movement for terrain it doesn't explain it well but you get a bonus reduction against armored and artillery.
Big forest 10% tank 20% artillery. Little forest 5% tank 10% artillery. Mountains and hills are 10% to 20% tank and 5%-10% artillery. Desert is 10% for both.
