While working on Rise of Nationalism together with belilakonja, I noticed that I could not find, or I don't know how to search for a list of famous generals to use in our European War 4 mod. Can anyone help me with a list? I need European, American and maybe 2-3 Asian generals, from the period 1815-1890.
At the moment I found (mostly from Europe)
Avram Iancu (Transylvania) Tudor Vladimirescu (Wallachia) Ipsilanti (Greek revolution) Alexandru Ioan Cuza (United Principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia) King Carol I (Romania) Lajos Kosuth (Hungarian Republic - 1848) Franz Joseph (Habsburg Empire, Austria-Hungary) Helmuth von Moltke (Prussia, German Empire) Duke of Wellington Giuseppe Garibaldi (Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont) Kaiser Wilhelm I Ulysees Grant (United States) Robert E. Lee (Confederate States) "Stonewall" Jackson (Confederate States) George Meade (United States)
I'm waiting for you guys to help me complete this list with the ammount of generals needed for this mod.

CountVonNumenor Generals indeed are hard to find. If you are lucky someone would compile a list of generals (on Wikipedia that is). What I would normally do is find a specific battle on Wikipedia. Then click on any general/commander of the battle. From there, find and click on the general in the biography of the general you just clicked on. This process goes on and on, eventually you'll have a lot of tabs, but most importantly, you should be able to get some generals. Since my mod will have parts of the Chinese Civil War, generals are hard to find, so I used the tactic above. Worked pretty well.

search directly for the country and time period you need, I have found quite a lot generals/leaders this way that aren't compiled on any lists...

The Light Bringer, was not Poland already split, and assimilated by Russians, Austrians and Prussians? I was always confused. If needed, I can also search for Polish generals.
