Hey everyone, indiaball here, If you are planning to modify WC4 , you wanna know this
1.) There is no such thing as country codes in map block of conquest ( i realized it yesterday )
2.) There are province code (for map changes) , for example, in conquest the code of province in which leningrad is situated is DB01 , where the code for the province in which moscow is situated is 7A02
Don't worry if a country like finland only have one province then there province code is there country code
JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU GUYS THIS UPDATE IF YOU HAVE ANY QUERIES RELATING WC3 AND WC4 MODDING, YOU CAN ASK ME

Also if you want a big country to be owned as a whole , you need to change all the province codes

Also if you want a big country to be owned as a whole , you need to change all the province codes I don't think that's a good idea. If you do so, the annexed country's cities will control 0 tiles, which may crash the game. But even if it doesn't it will still reward you with 0 territory if you capture that city. It would be best to change the city's owner from the city block. What you said is good for simple border editing, but not for large areas.

Wilhelm Ritter von Leeb, yah, i know that but i only said it so people can get idea that now there are no more one single hex code for a country and can understand that modding WC4 is alot different than WC3 , i am just giving a simple technique but you know we always have to change owner of a city in city blocks

IndiaBall, its always been like that in WC3. In WC3 there was different country codes in campaign. Hex mapping is like WC3 but its little different. This time when you change the value it only changes the cities and unit under your control not every hex spot

@communist, i am saying that if that in wc4 if you want more all hex spots of a 2 states, to change owner, you can do that just by searching same hex code again and again, for both province, like we can do in wc3 (btw i am talking about conquest , i don't know anything about campaigns). like now if you were to make table about codes you have to give all province code specifically , giving a single country code won't be enough

Because WC4's province codes are the same as their respective city codes. But you still need these country codes for effective map editing.

Wilhelm Ritter von Leeb, but in wc3 for map editing you don't need city codes, country codes can do it alone but not in wc4, now you need just City and province code

And @communist had made a list of all cities in WC3. What I am saying is that we won't need different lists than WC3.

In WC3 you still needed city codes for accurate modding (eg. make a specific tile owned by another country).
