this presentation is dedicated to my great-great-great grandfather, the one and only stepa stepanovic
stepa stepanovic was born in Kumodraž,Serbia march 11th 1856
he was born to Ivan Stepanovic and Radojka Stepanovic
Stepa was the 4th child and the 3rd son of the family
In his early childhood he had spend litlle time with his mother due to house work
,most of the time he would be taken care of his grandmother
,he also took care of the cattle at home,in which task he would be hurted badly by a bull
Stepa attended a primary school in kumodraž having good grades and impressing teachers,
after finishing primary school he went to a gymnasium in belgrade where he contiuned the string of good grades
due to him being from a relatively poor family,to afford his schooling,he would work as a servant for rich belgrade families or the aristocracy,he attended the gymnasium for 5 years(normally attend 6)because he would join the 11th class of belgrade artilery school
in which class would also be the famous field marshal Živojin Mišić,during his years in the artillery school,most of the focus was put on mathematics in which Stepa always performed poorly,he wasnt much of a talent on foreign languages too,but he enjoyed russian and french literature

The entire class during the serbo turkish war was promoted to seargent
When stepanović arrived in kragujevac he recieved the officer duty in the Šumadija division which was commanded by Colonel Ljubomir Uzun-Mirkovićwhich from Stepa would Recieve commands.
Stepa would be assigned to Uzun-Mirković’s squadron which had recieven orders to take the cities of Babina glava and Bela Palanka
during the capture of Babina glava Stepa was noted for his abilities and combat and was highly praised
But soon after the ottoman army would make a counter-offensive aginst Uzun-Mirković’s squadron
Which would force Mirković's squadron to retreat to pandrilo
during the batlle Stepa Fought along side his soliders raising morale and turning the tide of the battle,
stepas Batallion would move to sokobanja where they would prevent the ottomans from reaching the morava valley
armstance between serbia and ottoman empire was signed in 1876
Stepa was awarded the golden medal for bravery and was promoted to second-lieutenant
after the armstance he was appointed the 3rd company of the 3rd batsllion of the serbian army
during the capture of Pirot,Due to an ottoman fortified position supplies were coming to forces in pirot in order to stop this Stepa led a 300-strong force to capture mali vrh a town near Nišor the fortified position
he and his force slipped though Nišor unnoticed and captures mali vrh later he would open fire on the confiused ottoman garrison on nišor,afterwards pirot would be captured.Stepa would later capture vranje after which the war would end
during peace time he finished his military school and requested a transfer to Kragujevac in which he would assume the position of commander of the 1st company of the 3rd batallion,in Kragujevac he would also meet his wife Jelena
he would also father 2 daughters
after the serbo-bulgarian war
He would take his exams for an infantry captian
stepa would finish and pass the exam at the same time as his classmates most notable being milutin milanković and Živojin Mišić
he would recieve the full command of sumadija division and Be decorated by the king with the star of karadjordje
Stepa,seeing the prussian army success,would implement prussian army drills.he would make his men in top shape.
in 1906 there was a plot aginst Stepa by the kragujevac garrison,this plot was uncovered but this deeply saddened Stepa
"It is a sore point of my whole career. I had many tough things in my life, I swallowed injustice and derecognition, they offended me and neglected me, but nothing touched me more like that thing. I feel sorrow for those young people who were misled by faithless and elevated speculators because of their army career, where they could have been of great benefit to the people and fatherland. But, I could not do anything to help."-Stepa Stepanovic
Stepa would Become a general following the balkan wars
Stepa led the successful capture of kumanovo,and also participated in the siege of adrianople
After which many disagreements would be made aginst bulgarians
the bulgarians rejected sending enough of trains for the serbian army
in which stepa threathed that he would send the army by foot
after which bulgarians let him have it
during the second balkan war he would become the minister of defence
After the decleration of war from austria hungary
stepa achieved the first victory of the entente at the batlle of cer
his army would also participate in the batlle of kolubara
after the exodus in albania he took part in the vardar offensive which would cause bulgarian capitalation
He would be an active commander until 1919
when he would die in 1929
having been one of the greatest generals in ww1 in every battle ridiculing the much larger army of the ottomans or austria-hungary
He woul later be granted a monument in čačak commemoranting his heroism.
