Hi, looking at War Masters trailer review I noticed that there is a fourth currency in EW6: Population. Every city (perhaps wonders too) will give population points, every unit will costs some population points till it dies, then you can recruit more units. This seems like a great method to reduce AI unit spam. Also I saw that princesses probably cost flowers or something like that. Furthermore I wondered how wonders would look like before I realised that there's one build right next to Paris.

So, it means that ET games are becoming more realistic. I like it, it finally shows that you couldn't make a troop spam like before

I wouldn't say it is a currency it is a limit, that you can upgrade by getting new cities or upgrading them

Oh my Emperor Chanka Buddha Christ, spam might not be a thing, anymore? If so, I'll buy this one instantly.

They're evolving; surely and steadily, there's going to be more sophisticated mechanics in the near time future.

As I have said they doesn't have large resources as desktop game makers has, so they can't make huge leaps from one game to another, but they can make big enough difference for not making it boring for us

I got a question, would there be any negative effects for getting too little population points? If they add something like draft, and a lot of youre soldiers are getting killed, maybe the morale will drop siginficantly, or people will riot, cause i saw there is something like national guard etc. maybe people will riot distracting you from other things.

Nah, that sounds too complicated for the (mostly) simple offline games ET makes. If population drops too low, maybe you're gonna produce less troops per unit spawned or be completely unable to spawn troops (like how some resources, eg. gold & iron affects the troops spawned). What you suggested sounds good & realistic but it's probably way too advanced for our phones, or our phones' battery life, to handle. Moreover, if you're gonna have this sort of punishment, there has to be advanced politics mechanics involved, which cannot be seen in ET games as such a system is likewise too advanced. Nonetheless, I'm still curious to see how ET will use this <population> resource mechanic to further enhance gameplay.

There are probably no farms (as a resource giver) anymore on the map, so to have enough troops You need to have enough cities.

I assume it is just a means of an army having to choose quality or quantity. Ex. Germany has a good economy, but a smaller population than some eastern nations. So they would need a professional army to maximize their Population effectivness in their army, while Russia can afford a large less expensive army.
