What applications will I need to edit the WC3 files? For Phone: Apk Editor, Hex Editor, Quick Edit. On Computer: Notepad ++ (Recommended, but not necessary), Nox App Player, Frhed or HexEdit (or any other hex editor), WinRar, GIMP, Mali Compression Tool. Btw, if you edit the computer, you need to build the apk. So place the apk from computer to your Android Emulator. Then, make sure your emulator is rooted and has all the necessary apps (check the "For Phone" section). Use APK Editor on emulator to build the apk. Transfer the built apk from emulator to computer. Btw, after building the apk, APK Editor will say that it has been successfully built and will show the location of the built apk. GIMP and Mali Compression tool are for texture editing. I edit all my graphics by hand. Difficult, but very satisfying. I also use Paint (along with GIMP) because its somewhat easier. Mali Compression Tool is used for turning PKM files into png, so you can edit it. You can't directly edit the PKM. So what you would do is view the PKM file on the Mali Compression tool, Compress as whatever and to wherever (you can throw away that output PKM file, its unnecessary), then save as png. When you finished editing the PKM, take it to Mali Compression tool and compress as PKM. But back into the apk file and build. Don't forget to fix up coordinates at the xml files so it shows up ingame, and test it so it suits your taste. Good luck!
