Because of the derailment in the linked thread and Saltin's command to make a new thread if we want to talk through the topic of ww2 military successes and failures.
-Low Support from Germany to other Axis members
Why *would* they have needed when they had the industrial capacity same goes with manpower strength and other war capacity to achieve their goals.
-The myth of the only flaw of the French army was that they were used to trench warfare
Now the French and British had a larger airforce, more numbers of ground and sea forces and vessels, their issue was communications. The Westeners knew they would attack through the Benelux they sent their best armies like the French 6th which were to rendevouz with the Dutch and the Ardennes (can't spell) was poorly defendee and the germans punched through it with their main army (from there comes the name of Ghost Division) while there were diversion attacks on fortified western positions in Belgium. When they broke through the 'Natural Fortress' of the Ardenness the Western armies were surrounded and there was no army that could have defended Paris not in the pocket.
The other big two, Italy and Japan had good navies but they could only show it off to the Poor and nations in a bad situation like China (too unorganized, bad tech yada yada), then French Indochina after the collapse of France, dutch east indies etc. When they combated an enemy with better Industrial Capacities and Supply like UK and US. Any causilties that the Japs take navy-wise puts a burdon on them while the US replaces it easily. The Japanese Navy was very lucky to keep a ship dammaged so they can get it to the mainland to be repaired let alone destroyed. The Americans weren't bothered about material losses.
The Italian Army was an icompetent one. They surrendered to minor british numbers in Libya, Africa. They had a large army in Ethiopia which trumped the Western numbers protecting the colonies but they were never used. The Navy of the Italians was demolished and they could not replace it, they belived any western trick, like the fake invasion of Sardinia instead of Sicily.
The French Nation surrendered, The Army didn't. The Partisans and Liberation group in France has never shut itself and let the fire go down, they fought the Germans from the inside and helped a lot in the Normandy landings. Same goes with the French Liberation Army outside of France. They supported the offensives in Africa and participated in Overlord, same with many of the beaten nations of Europe. Czechs, Poles, Belgians, Greeks, Dutch, Luxemboegians, French, Norwegians alongside the Commonwealth has sturck mainland Europe. The Circle of Nations opened an another front in France.
