As WCIII is a historically based game, I think it would be fun, or at least interesting, to look at the historical part of WCIII.
First the Pros. First off, they've finally added some of the other smaller nations into the game, such as Iran and Mongolia. Also, they've made the geography more historically based. Poland has access to the Baltic Sea, and Japan and Chinese Manchuria, both in 1939. As we can't see the other scenarios, it's pretty safe to say that they're probably a lot more historically accurate than the past games.
Now for the Cons. First off, some of the countries are in the wrong place. For example, Iran is where Pakistan is on the map(all though) that might be Pakistan, but im pretty sure it's iran) Another problem is the inconsistent independence, non independence thing. India is independent in 1939 it seems, while Afghanistan is either merged with Iran or the USSR. Next, the strange alliances. Ok, so, like usual, Spain is on Germany's side. While they did support Germany, they were always neutral in the war. That's the only case I can find so far, but there may be more later on. And finally, they messed up Yugoslavias flag! They put the red star in the flag during 1939!
Hopes:I hope that for Africa (and to a lesser extent Asia) the borders are actually correct. I don't want all of Africa to be allied obviously, but I do want some specific stuff. I do want belgium in the congo, and Britain in Egypt, Kenya, and Sudan. I want italy in ethiopia, and Libya obviously. Then the germans could be in french territories, I would be fine with that, due to vichy france and all. Also, I hope that in later scenarios (like 1940, 1950 etc.) i hope they are still pretty accurate.
Final Judgement:While there are some historical flaws, there seem to be far less than in past games, and some of the historically inaccurate stuff is to make the game more fun, so im fine with that kind of stuff. I do hope there were more countries that were actually around, like afghanistan and Ethiopia (which is later). But other than that im good. They better have the flags correct though.
