Here's my guide in how to become the next Mongol Empire of WC3! Note that while this worked brilliantly for me the first time, you may need to restart multiple times to win.
Okay, so put your worst artillery general on your light artillery in Ulaan Bataar and send him over to Changchun. Repeatedly produce mobilized infantry. Here is where the luck comes in:These Japanese commandos do heavy damage to poor artillery generals and if you get more than one commando hit on this artillery, it could all be over. Repeatedly bombard Changchun with this artillery until you can send the mobilized infantry in to take the city. Also create a commando and put a general with one star movement on him so that he can also move to Changchun and knock out the Japanese commandos faster.
After you take Changchun, you can now produce lvl 2 mechanized forces (tanks, field artillery). This is why you put your worst artillery general on the light artillery so that your good generals can go on the tanks and field artillery. I recommend lots of field artillery (per usual). Primary objective after Changchun is Peking, then Nanjing, Shanghi, Wuhan, and Hong Kong will all Japanese occupied, meaning that you must push on through here as well. These cities provide lots of income compared to your original income of sixty gold per round, allowing you to build more troops and keep steaming forward. Secondary target is Pyongyang, it's not extremely important, but still necessary to take. Invading the Japanese Home islands is not necessary as the Americans, Canadians and Mexicans will all typically take care of them by themselves. After liberating China, paratroop onto Manilla, Taipei and Hanoi. Keep pushing on towards Bangkok, Singapore, Rangon (if captured), and Jakarta.
After taking out Japan, send your troops on a mass exodus towards the Balkans. Taking out the neutral nations is not necessary as the Soviets will weaken the German resistance or maybe have already taken them out. But if you can, take Athens, Sofia, or Bucharest, or all three if possible. These are jumping points into Europe. By this point, you'd have become super strong and will just steamroll the Germans. It's all up to you from here.
Took about 80 turns, it's a fun nation to play as and is somewhat challenging. Now we just need a Mongolia 1939 walkthrough.
