Moderated by Saltin Just a quick note: the original discussion started in This thread but since it was a different topic but still very interesting subject (EW6 Tactics Master skill is top tier) I started a new thread and moved the original 3 posts here.
Davout is the best for cav, Washington/Bolivar - inf (but I will anyway take Suvorov instead ), Kutuzov for arty. Finally someone else see the light in Davout Looks like Tactic Master skill will be the best skill in the game. Good trigger chance when fully upgraded and extremely powerful output in one turn with all the damage summed from all skills/abilities/items.

It's a double edge sword in the early game. You might take too much damage without realising it. Not recommended to use the 2nd strike on a enemy general unless you are sure you can kill him.

Early game is not a focus for choosing the generals/skills When upgraded a bit Your generals will become a killing machines as in all ET games Moreover for the second attack You can choose another target anyway.

Tactics Master is so usefull when you need to take a town fast specially if it is far and isolated!
Nelson has that skill too helping him be such a navy beast. A good synergy to complement this skill is the regen item (up to 30hps/round for the ambulance) so it mitigates some of the quicker damage received.

If a good general has it it is good. If it is a bad general it is bad.

I’d rather have it over plain fighting tbh

Honestly if I wanted to be really effective, I'd want Counterattack and then I'd send the generals in a 1 or 2 turn suicide mission ... Best skill for Blitzkrieg, but if you can Blitzkrieg, then it can't be that hard to do that without it.

This thing saved me when I was capturing London because Verhuell’s Tactic Master activated and ended up saving 1-2 more rounds of siege.
