I'm compiling data about all the armours and weapons of units to compare them which I'll post when I've finished it. However, it is not clear what the city defence armour type is. It seems to be the armour type of forts and cities? Not sure about the latter. What causes the confusion is that grenadiers don't have a weapon which increases damage against this armour type but it is a separate skill. Also, "city defence" as a term doesn't seem fitting for forts and the like (it sounds like it would be affecting how much damage units in cities take), although this is probably due to bad translation.

Also I have noticed that for the USA, fort costs are very weird. the industry and gold requirements are swapped almost.

I presume city defense is the armor type forts and cities have. From the damage I seen. Artillery does great against forts and cities while infantry with muskets as their weapon type barely do any damage.

has anyone found any nation-dependant unit stat bonuses? I've checked USA, france, GB, spain, russia and the netherlands and apart from the USA's fort costs, all units have the same stats
edit: i've checked a lot more and i'm positive there aren't any now, unless they are only in campaigns edit 2: i think different nations in different conquests have different upgrades. so while what nation you pick doesn't matter, one nation's ships might be a bit better than the others for example. what i like is that actually whether a nation is an ally or on the enemy's side doesn't affect their units' stats.

Grenadiers, ships and artillery do great against city defence.
