I agree, this campaign is just as difficult as the Russian missions in EW4.

I really need help with this mission. Every time even if I break past Kiev, I cant defeat the spam at Smolensk. I need to get the 3 star though so I can get closer to getting that 300 medal reward for prefect stars on the French Campaign. Pls help me.

Some general tips that I have: Utilize the 3 hex range on your artillery.
Try to have several infantry units to prevent your artillery from being attacked.
Capture the stable behind Smolensk before capturing the city itself by putting infantry in position near it and using all of your artillery to kill the unit.
Easier said than done, I know. But that's all I have.

Thanks I’ll give it a go at some point, but it’s gonna be hard to get the 3 star I want. I only got 1 star and that's with two gold general. Perhaps I just employed bad strategy but I recommend coming back to the level later and settling for one or two stars. |
