Many people prefer Davout than Murat (i'm one of them) because higher base stats, better damage output skill but I just knew that cavalry commander (and other buff atk skill) can reach 3 grids at lvl 6. So I think again about Murat. 20 atk within range 3 grids for melee unit is really huge advantage. And if you have Blucher, we'll get totally 40 atk points for normal units in range (about 70 - 80% atk buff), it seem we come back EW 5 with commander team ^^!. I will choose Murat as my first Cavalry for sure because I have Blucher. How about you? P.S: Below is the picture I test with Nelson. Not enough medal for all of generals ^^!

You need to use plenty of Cavalry units in order to benefit from this skills with Murat. With Nelson, invantry and even artillery - I can imagine. With cavalry - no, at least now.

Now, I usually use blucher with 2 other heavy cavalry to operate a direction of atk in conquest and it's really fun. In campaign, it's hard for you to choose your favourite unit but Conquest i think it's different.

Excellent points to both posters above! I am holding on my next purchase of cavalry general for now. Apparently Easytech will do fairly significant upgrades to the cavalry branch next update, this is both in ability and in price of the units . If that's true and cavalry becomes affordable/viable then it may well make this skill worthy.
