Sorry, what are you guys talking about? Who showed an eagle? During the Serbia-Switzerland match, the two Swiss players who scored (Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri) both showed an eagle during their goal celebrations. Both players are of Kosovar Albanian descent, so this likely meant an Albanian Eagle. FIFA seemed to interpret this as a political message (tbh I don't know too much about it)

Although even if I had the significance would've been lost on me. I'm all for keeping politics out of sport though!

Swiss national team captain Stephan Lichsteiner was also fined 5,000

On a slightly unrelated note, the Mexicans were so happy that Germany failed to progress (had the Germans won 1-0 Mexico would crash out) that I saw several instances of Mexicans parading or doing similar things to Korean fans. In short, the Mexican fans were utterly ecstatic
