We did it!!!!!! It was obvious from the very beginning that we simply can't outplay Spain. So this defensive tactic was the only chance to win. And we did it!!!! Congratulations! I was hoping Russia would do it. Spain are a shadow of their former selves but I still expected them to win.

I expected russia to win and that reminded me of russia vs netherlands in 2008 😊 Yeah, two important but totally different games Dutch players were beasts that year, they simply crushed one team after another. And yet they unexpectedly were soundly beaten by Russians. Thanks to a Dutch head coach, btw . Guus Hiddink is always a welcomed guest in Russia. He had spoken with players and staff before this match Spain-Russia. Who knows, maybe he still has some trumps in the hand

He builds a very good team but he never won a final 😊

Belgium is a good candidate, or Croatia, or even (dreams, sweet dreams ) even Russia.

France is a very strong team if they manage to play together they ccan go to the finals easily.i dont believe belgium can go to the finals.england also is a strong candidate. And russia vs croatia ? Russia can manage to win that one with croatia performance last night and balcans mentality of inferiority. Hopefully brazil will go home today because they deserve to go home with their crybaby mentality 😊😊

Here are some of the records England broke yesterday:
After 30 years (or was it 40?) England manages to win in the penalty shootout. Kane is the first English player to score a goal in 3 consecutive matches in a major tournament since 1939. Kane is also the first English player to score more than 5 goals in a World Cup since 1986.

Kane is the first English player to score a goal in 3 consecutive matches in a major tournament since 1939. Kane is also the first English player to score more than 5 goals in a World Cup since 1986. I feel dumb for quoting myself but here is the full list from BBC: England have won a penalty shootout at a major tournament for only the second time, also beating Spain in Euro 96. England have qualified for the quarter-final of a World Cup for the first time since 2006. Colombia have lost three of their four knockout matches at the World Cup (also the last 16 in 1990 and the quarter-final in 2014). The team going first in a penalty shootout have now lost all three at the 2018 World Cup.
Harry Kane became the first player to score in six consecutive England appearances since Tommy Lawton did so in 1939.
Kane has scored six goals in his first three World Cup appearances for England - only three players have scored more in their first three matches; Hungary's Sandor Kocsis (nine), Germany's Gerd Muller (seven) and Argentina's Guillermo Stabile (seven).
The last England player to be fouled more often in a World Cup match than Kane in this match (nine) was Alan Shearer in 1998 against Tunisia (11).
Kane has scored 14 goals in 10 England appearances under Gareth Southgate, scoring in all eight matches he has played as captain (12 goals).
Mina has scored in all three of his appearances at the World Cup, with all three headers.
Kane has scored six goals from six shots on target at the 2018 World Cup.
England conceded in injury time at the end of the second half for the first time in World Cup history, with Mina's goal coming after 92 minutes and 33 seconds.
Eight of England's last 15 World Cup knockout matches have gone to extra time, with the first match in this run the 1966 World Cup final.

Penalties are 50/50 chance. Russia fought harder to win tho...I predict england-france in the finals.

Well, its over. France 4-2 Croatia... had as many goals as each of the previous 4 combined (2-0 2002, 1-1 2006, 1-0 2010, 1-0 2014 had 6 combined as well) Man that was a thrilling final.
