After the update, about 75% of the time after killing enemy units/depleting city HP my cav units can attack again. I'm pretty sure it's not the effect of Davout's skill since the skill symbol didn't appear.
I hope some of the more frequent players may test this out to see if cav has improved. Then maybe, we may consider a more aggressive strategy involving cav.

My Murat can attack more frequent than before. It is usually twice or thrice which is unusual for the past when it once in 50 attacks it would give me the 3 attacks in a row

Yeap I noticed the same, I am pretty sure it had to have been upgraded.

I've started using Blucher after I bought him, and he's actually a beast in the campagins. Helped me get the three stars I needed and with an ambulance equipped, he doesn't melt easily. And if he does, I can just pull him back for a few turns.

Tech fully upgraded. Here are some of the most usual units in their classes. I choose them because they very close cost-wise and they are both very good. That being said, let's start the comparison: 1. Attack-Lancers win
There are actually two things about this one. Firstly, obviously 70 is better than 63... not by much, but it is significant enough to matter. Secondly, let's look at the weapon types: Cold Weapon is effective (125%) against light armor: all infantry besides Line and Assault, normal against most and adequate against city defenses ( 75%). Musket however is effective against medium armor (Line Infantry, Assault Infantry, Light Cavalry, Light Artillery) which are also 4 units but they are seen less often on the battlefield. Musket is horrible against cities, but here the ability comes in. I did some testing on empty cities and Lancers are capable of doing around 32 damage while Grenadiers do 52. Quite significant. However, being a cavalry unit, Lancers also have their perk of attacking again pretty often, which is very useful indeed. 2. Defense-Lancers badly win
Not only they have almost double the defense (49 vs 27, which is huge) but also the heavy armor type is much better than light armor in almost every evety aspect (besides Machine Guns, which you will very rarely face). Regarding health, this is more than compensated by Lancers due to their incredible defense, despite 270 being lower than 300. 3. Mobility-Lancers wins
15 vs 12 means that usually Lancers are capable of moving 5 tiles while Grenadiers can only do 4. Still, not bad, and honestly is not such a big setback. A lancer will take about 34 damage while doing 50 to the grenadier. (Or 8 hits vs 6)... In the end, I will probably do an updated version of Standard Units review when I get all my techs upgraded. But for now, I'd advise spamming Lancers if you don't have money, spam Heavy Cavalry if you have, do Line Infantry if you have to defend (I think it is worth it over Militia), and either spam grenadiers or Heavy Artillery if you got to take some cities (and maybe throw a Rocket here or there). Light Cavalry is worse than Line Infantry, Musket is worse than Heavy Cavalry, and Armored Car... well after you get upgraded tech it is no longer that good, especially pop-wise (cost-wise is still ok, but 2 Lancers can easily do a better job)
