Here is my take on this unique conquest where some have done well in, others... not so much.
This is a rough guide but it should work out.
Note: This requires a tremendous amount of luck & (possibly) the latest version of the game. Also, I'm currently short on time so I can't do my usual <Here's what happens & how you should react!> style.
At the start, invade Gibraltar with all you have! Finish that city by turn 3.
Once you have done so, the Spanish will invade. Drive back the Spanish & invade across the Strait of Gibraltar!
You'll most likely fail & the enemy will launch a counterattack. This is when you defend again & prepare another wave. Remember to make use of the port to spawn ships!
Once you're done, invade across the straits & begin another round of Cat-and-Mouse. Repeat this pattern until you see your allies have successfully counterattacked in Central Europe & are blitzing through Western Europe.
Note: I would like to say that the Scandinavian Gambit has failed in my game, resulting in Demark-Norway pushing Sweden back.
Prussia is almost destroyed & the Brits are struggling to invade across the English Channel.
The Kingdom of Sardinia most likely will fall around this time & there's a high chance that the Italian Gambit has also been lost (Sicily is starting to lose & the British Mediterranean Fleet has been wiped out).
However, by sheer luck, Russia defeats France in Central Europe, Austro-Russian forces have contained or possibly even driven back the Ottoman-Egypt forces, Britain has taken & maintained Holland and Sweden lives!
Here's what you do: Continue playing cat-and-mouse to distract the enemy (France and Spain) while preparing to invade the Spanish islands & Sardinia.
When the coast seems clear, make your daring Eastern attack, timing it with Austrian counterattacks in Italy, Western Europe and the Balkans, as well as British, Swedish and Russian advances on France, Denmak-Norway &/or the Balkans.
When the Spanish & French are distracted by the Coalition invasion of France, quickly conquer the islands & begin your true advance!

As you can see, Britain, Austria & Russia has gobbled up much of the enemy's territories and Sweden has even made a comeback, joining them in France.
