Seems sort of like hoi, granted very primitive, but we're getting closer.

Yeap way too bland compared to pc Hoi,but even Hoi itself was way outdone by mods making more expansion to the original vanilla technology tree.

Pretty bland stuff- the only way it could possibly get any worse if they reduced the number of available upgrades from 12, but not surprising they put at least some effort into that aspect considering that this will be one of their important money sinks.
Of course, it's to be expected from a mobile game with its emphasis on large buttons with pretty graphics for all of them, so it'd actually be pretty resource intensive to make an actual tree of some sorts.

They clearly know what strategy game fans want but probably just want to rush the tittle out as quickly as possible.
There is a science ressource and energy too but it doesnt look like they are monetizing these, I only see the icon for the medals linked to the real money shop. Or am I missing something here?

Yep, Those will be gained from your HQ, which you need to invest money in to get large amounts of energy and such. Notice that level 41 HQ, its how high level the HQ is. Like in clash of clans, how high your town is.

So then HQ determines the amount of ressources we get. When you say money you mean real life money or game money like what cities generate or maybe a combination of the 2.
