Just unlocked 50% off for Hood. Is he worth it and is a navy gen even worth getting? We don't know yet for sure whether or not we need a navy general. So to buy one now is a bit premature move. Even if we will need one, I don't think Hood will be the best choice. |

I don't think he is 2nd best after Nelson.
Imo Treville and Jervis are much better (skills).

And I really don't understand how Treville (who has the same set of skills as Nelson minus Helmsman) can be worse than Hood. |

As stoic mentioned Escorting as any aura skill is also working on the gen himself, so You'll benefit from it even fighting alone. And Treville's Tactic Master and Jervis's brilliant Counterattack are also very competitive if compared to Hood's Alert. The only real Hood's advantage is his price. |
