You can get around 20 gold medals from completing campaign and challenges with 3 stars and also from some achievements.
Silver medals are much more common, and you can get 2 everytime you win a 1798 conquest. (If you need money you can sell them, you can't have more than 99)

You also get a gold medal from the 50% missions

Doing simple math of conquest gains, that means you can buy a gold medal per 2 conquests since one costs 100 medals.

We don't get nearly enough gold medals to upgrades all our generals to their max rank. We will have to buy gold medals in the shop if we want to upgrade our generals to their max rank. A single general upgrade to Emperor costs 10 gold medals so just 2 generals to emperor will use up most of the earned gold medals.

The question is - how many? I wouldn't buy these now, before we know it for certain that we won't have enough. Yes, two conquests are not a big deal, but those 100 medals are by no means surplus items. |

Been playing the British empire campaign and so far I gotton 2 gold medals. One is from battle of Talfalgar, another is from battle of Waterloo or another campaign mission close to it.
