The first mission in the British empire campaign. We have to hold Yorktown and take the French town to the west of it. We also have to kill the 3 American generals. I completed it with 3 star using Washington, Kutuzov and the 4 free generals. At the start advance south to take the US city and than kill the enemy units attacking Yorktown. Once Yorktown is safe kill Dearborn, this will trigger Washington to move east. Kill him and than take the French town to end the mission. Jones shouldn't be too hard to kill. I used falsen on the frigate to attack him and with damage from allies he was killed easily.

I wonder whether this is the final number of generals we are allowed to use in campaigns or not...

stoic , I believe it is very likely 6 generals will be the number of generals we are allowed to use in the final campaigns. 6 generals was the max in campaign mode for EW4, WC3, and WC4. I don't find it likely easytech will change the status quo

My route (Brute force tactic) >attack Dearborn’s troops >Storm in towards the French City >Head straight to Yorktown That's weird, the more brute force I use, the more likely Yorktown WILL fall. In my first clear, Yorktown was able to survive until turn 10 or longer. Now, with my newly bought Mahmud II, as I try to launch a more fierce assault, my allies are more likely to die. Placing Mahmud II on a spawned RA from upgraded capital, I tried to launch a much fiercer offensive and Yorktown suddenly falls by turn 5! (They did it without Washington and Dearborn's help to succeed!)

My route (Brute force tactic) >attack Dearborn’s troops >Storm in towards the French City >Head straight to Yorktown This^^is the best way,as the Americans will try to take your cities to north. Just spam militia and hold them off as long as possible, keeps them preoccupied as you defeat Dearborn and his gang. Washington comes out, gets trapped near the center and dies. Falson on navy easily sinks Jones then later helps retake Yorktown. I was able get 3 * in 10-11 turns.

None of these strategies worked for me and I have Murat, Massena and 4 free gens
Dearborn cuts Massena and Murat's health in half, get to the French city grinds the rest of my gens' health in half, and Washington is essentially cleaning up. The French city is also hard to conquer as well.

Gens used: Paget + 4 free gens. At the start, I upgrade both cities. Picked University in the capital. I moved to attack the coastal city. Dearborn chose to camp in the central city. With good maneuvering, I take it. This seemingly triggers his attack, but he just encamps on the eastern end of the mountains by the central city. I started to spam light cav since my economy could take 1 per turn. Ignoring him, I recovered Yorktown. My cav units are spammed from here. Using Clinton, on grenadiers, I built the anti-arty fortifications and surrounded Dearborn. Defeating him seems to induce Washington to attack, or time does. Be wary of enemy raiders! They may attack the coastal city. The northern city cannot fall to troops without grenades or arty support. Ignore them. I take the central city. Washington is drawn towards it. A pity Yorktown's fort couldn't fire a single shot. Using this decoy, I moved to take the French quarters. Spam cav, surround and defeat Washington. Teach these rebels who call themselves the "Patriots" a lesson!
Turn 8 was Dearborn's fall. Turn 12 showed the OP gen, Clinton, dealing the final blow to Washington.

Tried again by attacking the southern city between Yorktown and I, here's a few things to note:
-I use Murat and Massena first to secure the south city and prevent the enemy from completely surrounding Yorktown (Falsen (now Alexander) and Jourdan are on artys), then Gates on Elite Infantry (since spamming light cav isn't too expensive, I will gain enough gold to create said unit relatively early on) to kill Dearborn, and finally Clinton on a Grenadier from the french city to fight Washington.
-If the British AI holds Yorktown for 8 turns, you get a morale boost, which in my case did help me conquer the French city
-Blast tactic is important, which is why I build a uni in the level 2 city (after I upgraded to level 3), plus uni upgrade only costs metal so it shouldn't be a burden on spamming. Also your arty generals will be quite damaged trying to pass through the difficult terrain, which pulls even more time
-spam units (in general spam light cavs for this) asap, for the first turn I made an extra Militia on the level 2 city to act as a shield next turn (Dearborn's army will attack your arty)
-Build a stable in the south city, cuz Yorktown is too much of a risk, plus stable only costs 5 more gold than a light cav
-It's best to kill Dearborn before round 8, since Washinton takes quite a while to kill (for me it was 2-3 turns, which resulted in the first victory being 2 stars, at turn 13)
