Here is a guide to my favorite conquest in EW4 and quite possibly my favorite conquest in all of the Easytech universe:Portugal 1798.
King Alfonso! Portugal is under attack by the Spaniards! Beresford and a multitude of mother generals have come to your assistance, as with our loyal allies the Brits. If you don't make the first strike, we could suffer the same fate that we did under the Iberian Union!
Operation Surround and Destroy:
Okay, Here's the plan. You send your infantry and sieging cannon to the small city above the river above Madrid. Once you've taken the city, then push into Zaragoza. Remember to upgrade along your way. Meanwhile, send the rest of your troops south towards Seville and the other small city to the south. By the time Seville is captured, the Spanish will move toward Porto. Build some troops and artillery there to defeat them. Then once Zaragoza is taken, launch a full assault on Madrid from all angles. Once you take Madrid, you will be briefed on the next stage of the Franco-Portuguese War.
Operation Iberian Thunder
After Madrid has fallen, build light infantry and guards to move towards the French cities of Bordeaux and the smaller French city to the east of Bordeaux. Barcelona is a secondary objective. The Spanish Battleship in Barcelona Harbor will deal heavy casualties to any troops sieging Barcelona. Thus, heavy artillery is recommended and then one infantry will be needed to finally take it. The Harbor in the Northeast of Spain is also important, as building a frigate there will help in taking Bordeaux Once you've taken those two French Cities, push onto Clermont. Toulon, Marseilles and Lyon are secondary objectives as well, Toulon and Marseilles due to, again, very high casualties. Once you've taken Clermont, the final stage of the Franco-Portuguese War shall initiate.
Operation Napoleon's Hell
The final battle will now take place soldier! If our Portuguese troops reach Paris before the British or Prussians, we shall have great prestige!
Once you've taken Clermont, upgrade the city. Then, build guards there. When finally ready, storm toward the industrial area of the city. Once there, build heavy artillery. Then blast away the French defenses and kill the French general there. Eventually, they will inevitably surrender. Then roll in and raise the Portuguese Flag above the Arch de Triumph. Then, just go about mopping up French resistance and then push into Italy and the Ottoman Empire.
