SolidLight, GJ! I actually never thought of locking Ottomans out of the game before and didn't think it was possible to finish like that.

So I tried to beat the 1 star 1798 record but failed. I barely grazed the line. And I gotta say, I'm really unsatisfied with this run. Unlike my Prussia run, which consisted of really fast movement and satisfying maneuvers, this one consisted of me throwing whatever attacks I have at the enemy while trying to stay alive with militia. Crossing over to Britain is a pain, fighting Russia is a pain, HRE is surprisingly aggressive and you have like no income. I'll have to find another approach at this. Oh well, tie, but hey! Atleast I beat the record for the highest score! thats something, right?

Iโve tried it at least 5 times now. I wonโt give up, but I just want some advice for Warsaw 1798. Britain is insanely annoying and really good at blocking me in, but theyโre not the problem here. Itโs Russia, as theyโre coming at me with 100% of their absolutely enormous army. My cities gets surrounded every time I take the offensive, forcing me to be on the defensive. And I have to keep the heat on Russia or else I wonโt make it in time. dsongop, Deleted, how did you handle Russia in a sane way?

Hah... Well this was hard, really, really hard. Turn 5 Prussia I have a tendency to forget that I have to take screenshots sometimes, oh well. Anyway, see dsongops guide on the details for this part. Prussia is a super RNG fest because their unit spawns are too random. Prussia HAS to die on turn 5 because Scharnhorst spawns on turn 6, extending their life to turn 7 and causing far too much damage for you to handle. You need to eliminate your enemies' firepower fast in order to stay on the offensive. Turn 6 HRE Heres another problem, HRE you'd think would be a joke, but they're really aggressive on you for some reason. This enemy unit wall is really annoying. Turn 7 Central Europe I just took this picture since here's a threat I got worried about on this turn. I really don't want to have to defend against someone on one of the toughest units in the game. Radetzky did go at me, but proved to be pretty harmless later on though. Turn 7 Sardinia I had unbelievably bad luck here, France couldn't finish off Sardinia to something like turn 17 on this run. Luckily that meant nothing except that I would be getting less help from France. Portugal too held on way longer than normal. Turn 14 Russia This is one of the hardest areas. Seriously, Russias army is so huge, with some serious people like Suvorov and Kutuzov leading the charge. And you HAVE to fight them as soon as possible or else you can't finish them fast enough. That's a threat to your cities, but kind of an advantage when you're sieging theirs. Because they're at the pop limit at all time and have way too many cities to defend, you'll often find that they won't spawn a garrison to defend themselves. Simply put, weather their attacks, keep the heat on them, and they'll go down. Turn 15 HRE Ah yeah, HRE, just kill their attack forces to reduce the amount of militia you have to use, and let France and the Ottomans wreck them. Turn 18 Britain I seem to have tought that Britain wasn't an important enough area to screenshot often. And honestly it wasn't, since most of the time you're just sailing across the North Sea. The real action starts from turn 14.
So don't go for London. The terrain there is awful and you'll probably get blocked in there, as the closest landing point has a chokepoint where they can stalemate you. Use blasts, and take it later. Go for Manchester instead, there's a stable there and you're not so easily blocked in. Turn 18 Russia And this is all I have left to do in Russia. I need to finish this work in 6 turns if I want to just barely scrape by, not a problem. Karl was boucing back and forth between Minsk and Smolensk since everyone else was working on other areas. I might have used Massena a bit badly here though. Turn 19 Britain 5 turns left, not a problem. Denmark will take London. Turn 22 Russia Russia is at death's door. Turn 22 Britain And so is Britain. I had a 25% chance to get delayed by one turn here, as Dabrowski couldn't help Blucher take that last city and I couldn't build a military academy anywhere else on Ireland to blast it too, so I had to rely on Victory rush. I lucked out though, and didn't roll that 25%. Turn 23 Britain Britain bites the dust. Turn 23 VICTORY! And Russia does the same.
Honestly, way less fun than my Prussia run. The challenge here is to manage your cash. You do not have good income and have mostly trash land around yourself, and you need to face Prussia, HRE, Britain and Russia. What you need to do is to reduce Prussias and HREs damage output so that you can use good units instead of militia. I'm happy to finish this, and I don't really want spend much time improving this run. best75 23 turn Warsaw 1798, and highest score at 267828.
I'll try some 1806, after a break.

Also, I tried to repeat my stunt of bribing out russia/ottomans for this one. Warsaw can't do it as they need to trudge through Prussia to get to Britain, and Britain can't be beaten in 18 turns. Netherlands can afford to bribe Russia three times, and they might be able to beat Britain in 20 turns, but they have no income and no army and need to somehow take down HRE in 20 turns, and I don't know if thats possible as they have to piggyback off France with Prussia coming right at them. Portugal might be able to do it, as they only need to beat France in 18 turns, which I believe might be possible, but they're really susceptible to bad Scandinavia RNG.
So yeah, I think that Warsaw really is the best country to tackle the 1-star 1798 record.
EDIT: Well, ok, France is probably going to wreck HRE if you attempt to do that with Portugal, so maybe it's not viable either.

HRE is always a burden unless you play as Netherlands, because you can just sit back and bribe. Either HRE is super-aggressive when you play as French Eagle or they are free real estate for the enemy when you play as Coalition.

They're a good meatshield because they're facing the french main army head on, leaving Frances other flanks vulnerable for you to attack. The AI usually doesn't capitalize on that weakness though because Portugal and Britain are sucky allies.

Portugal is free real estate for Spain (1798) and France (1806-1815). Meanwhile, all Britain does is send some ships to harass the enemy a bit which actually doesnโt do nothing, or send some mediocre troops that pretty much any stable country can defeat.

1806 Saxony in 29 turns, and highest score at 251150. I think it should be clear that I'm legit at this point. This is another run where I played really sloppily toward the end. I killed Russia on turn 24 and could have killed Britain on ~turn 25 if I was smart enough to actually build a stable to rush down that random island. Most of my delays are due to Denmark and Italy failing at their jobs. This can be cut down to 26, easily, if you don't waste time. Really, this is a pretty similar game to Warsaw, just wreck Prussia, gun for Britain immediately, keep the heat on Russia, and hope that your allies don't fail at their jobs. Also, I found out that Spain is way better at killing Morocco if you declare on Morocco turn 1.

I just tried to beat Prussia 1798 in 16 turns, and unfortunately I gotta say that itโs pretty much impossible since you actually have to win on turn 14, which just isnโt possible because of Denmark. This is because Murat spawns on turn 15, and Berthier and Torre (spanish general) spawns on turn 16, rending whatever cities that are left impossible to capture on those turns. The fastest that conquest can be beaten is turn 17, which also requires ridiculously good luck, as you cannot donate to either Portugal or Sweden. Also screw the 75% proc chance on victory rush. It causes too much luck when trying to beat the hardest records.
Oh well.

I have no words, or on the contrary have a lot of words, but I should have no words for this marvelous achievement. Turn 1-4 By far the most annoying part of this conquest. There's so much that can go wrong. You need that exact formation on turn 2, that's the only way everyone can attack Amsterdam on turn 3. Amsterdam should be down on turn 4, and Bruxelles should go down on turn 5, but turn 6 is also ok. I didn't take a lot of other pictures this run from turn 5-10 but that period is pretty much just a charge at Spain. Ideally you should arrive at Toulouse on turn 9. Take Paris with Wilhelm and Ludwig since they're too slow and can handle that area fine. Turn 11 Scandinavia Possibly the most RNG area in this run. Denmark has a huge advantage on Sweden as they move before them and have a better army too. You do NOT have the resources or the time to do much here, so just send some donations and hope for the best. Them taking Copenhagen on turn 11 is amazing luck honestly. Turn 11 Iberia Another really hard area to beat. Ideally Spain should die on turn 15 because Torre spawns on that turn (you move before anyone else so you can prevent him from spawning). Turn 16 Iberia And I failed at that. But I managed to make the best out of that situation. Now I would have pretty much instantly lost if he spawned in Sevilla (Portugal lost Sevilla to Spain, those incompetent fools!), but he spawned in Madrid because I had most of my forces concentrated there and left Madrid open despite me having the opportunity to take the city on turn 15. And because he's infantry and most of my firepower was cavalry, I managed to heavily injure him. Spain moves before Portugal and Torre will moronically attack Murat or Dabrowski from Madrid and die. Turn 16 VICTORY! And then I win on Portugals turn.
I was wrong about this. A turn 16 victory WAS possible because Berthier spawned on turn 16, not 15 as I previously thought. Now, is 15 turns possible? Well, yeah maybe, but then you have to kill France on turn 14 and then Spain on turn 15 because Murat spawns on turn 14. And Murat cannot be killed in one round, maybe you could try to beat him by forcing him to spawn in Turin or something and (somehow) have an enourmous army stationed there to kill him. I can't beat France in 14 turns regardless with this strategy so 15 turns is pretty much impossible. This is by far my greatest achievement. I'm happy to have a borderline impossible record to beat, but who knows, maybe someone can develop a strategy for a 15 turn run some day. andrei do the WFC group vote pls.
