I wanted to pay some attention on this battle because it's one of the lesser known from the Romanian front. Ot also has an important significance for me, since it took place on my homeland. I feel great that I could find more information about it, and this is what I could put together:

The information in this video comes from "Last War of Austria-Hungary 1914-1918" and from "Istoria războiului pentru reîntregirea României 1916-1919" by Constantin Kirițescu.

I also received some old images from the private collection of Constantin Băjenaru, historian at the local museum.

How many on each sides, commanders ect.. Ahh also as noted by other members we have a board for historic presentations and such so I moved this thread there.

Saltin, understandable.

For the German army, most important unit was the 187th Infantry regiment, while the Austrians completed with a few Hoved (territorial guards) units, that camped on the south of Făgăraș in the night of 5-6 October, before continuing the advance to Mândra.
For the Romanians, the 4th and 6th Army had together somewhere between 4 and 6 thousand soldiers, many of them gathered from the retreating units that were arrriving from Sighișoara while the front was coning closer and closer to the River Olt. I might be wrong about some numbers (I haven't checked the sources by a few months), but I think that's it.
