I wish to discuss how to farm those three most needed item in EW 6. Here is my taking (and sorry for the lousy guide this is my first time making a guide tbh)
Medals Farming:
Netherlands 1878 conquest is by far the best option to farm medals. There are two basic scenarios that most of the user (and me!) will meet.
I. Free gens only
1. The lack of free cavalry gen is the most important factor here. But we can make do by city stealing using the starter heavy cavalry. Go south in the first turn and try to avoid fighting as much as possible. A lot of luck and situational map awareness is needed but basically use the cavalry to "steal" the unguarded city and follow the french army east. As the heavy cavalry freemove buff, you can hit the weakened city too and hope the buff turned on and you can still move the cavalry. Basically with a good timing and map awareness you can keep the heavy cav alive stealing unattended city while going eastward until Moskwa. Another tips is dont afraid to steal your friendly city as any city without HP can be stolen and don't forget to spam Line Infantry/Militia in your unattended city. A city can regenerate HP by having any unit inside it for a turn. You can hold on a city with 1 Milita being bombarded by 2-3 enemy infantries tbh. Also try to calculate your earning. For example, 1 militia cost 50 gold, which get a break even if you hold the level 3/4 city for 2-3 turns.
2. Meanwhile, keep your starting grenadier near Amsterdam and avoid conflict as much as possible. Use your starting fort to the max. If you can manage your economy and industry well, you can have enough money to build a temple in turn 5 or 6. Do so in the square beside the coastal fort tile. Put whatever free inf gen in this grenadier and if you have any healing item (ambulance or tent) equip him with that. double ambulance or tent will be great. Basically you are rotating your grenadier in the temple and another infantry (line or rifleman) in the coastal gun tiles. Worry not as the french usually help you with 1 of their gen (suchet or murat usually).
3. Move your sole ship to the english channel and wait for paget go to the sea. Kite and bombard suchet with your ship while avoiding the altilery in the britland and other ship. Usually you can put paget until around 1/3 HP left which is great because full health Paget is disaster to Amsterdam. Don't forget to sell your harbour because your economy won't allow you to build any ship until late game (and the lack of strong free naval gen).
4. By then you are supposed to withstand the English ONSLAUGHT until 20-ish turn. If you declare war on portugal and sardinia in the first turn (which you should) the french will beat sardinia in around turn 3-6 and the spaniard will kick portugal proverbial buttocks in around turn 12-16. From my experience the danes will beat the swedes in around turn 26-34 depends on the progress of your eastward campaign. The prussian and HRE really depends on how you city sniping them but basically they will be at the wits ends 10-20 turns after the ottoman joining in. If the russian offer to delay their joinings by two turns, agree to that. Especially in the beginning where it will only cost you 20-40 ducats. Just do it once because 2 free turns for ottoman is enough to wreak havoc in southern HRE and by the time the Russian joins, it will be too late.
5. If you are confident you will have 2 option to do in turn 30 forward. First is to rebuild a naval base (again) by destroying your fort (especially after the prussian is pushed back to the east). Build frigate and bombard any of the English city that you can. If you are doing right with your city sniping you can spam frigate every turn. Let the French and the Danes do the naval invasion. Also don't forget to bring your leftover defending infantries to try city sniping in the British mainland. Another taking which is a bit more difficult is to build a factory instead of naval base. Spam a bunch of rockets or heavy arties but do not land on the southern England (where the french and the danes usually lands). Land those arties (and your free infantries) into the scotts and take the England from the north.
6. Usually the spaniard will deal with the Irish but as usual it depends on the RNG. You can help them too by taking the northenmost ireland after you already conquered the three northen english city.
7. From my experience, you can finish the conquest in 50 to 60 turns (around 45mins) with the S rank and get a hefty 10000 gold, 50 medals, 3 eagle badges and some silver medals.
II. Some decent generals
Now after some time doing the campaigns, challenges and conquests and doing some upgrades we can cut the time of doing the Netherlands Conquest even more. Here is some important things IMHO:
1. Cav generals
For me, Cavalry Generals are indispensable. The heavy cavalry that we get from the start can be a heavy killing machine. I did buy Blucher at some point but we can make do with other cavalry generals. Dabrowski and Murat is the other two great option. If you ever gonna buy the paid general, buy Blucher because he is waaaayyy better than the grenadier God and the Emperor wannabe. The cavalry aura is indispensable because you can do the light cav spamming strategy with it (especially if you manage to get all those three around and voila 100 damage light cavalry horde). Use the multi killing specialty of the heavy cavalry buff to finish 2-4 enemies in one turn. Don't forget to put double healing items on your generals and do the city sniping with ease. Skip the cheap bagration by the way he is not really worth the 800 medals. It is better to max the cavalry aura to the max with that medals
2. Infantry Gens
Now for the Infantry gens, Wellington is not buffed enoough. Try to buy Karl, Massena or Barclay instead. They basically buff your Militia on par to Line infantry in damage. If you have a leftover healing item, equip them with that.
3. Arties gens
Kutuzov is great but you will need some farmings to get him. Also in netherlands conquest, arties are coming way in theate game and you can hold on by just using the free arties gen.
4. Unit upgrades
Try to max your heavy cavalry first, especially the mobility. You can do a lot of wonders by just an extra 2 mobility. After you maxed the heavy cavalry (along with your campaigns prequisite of course) try to choose either heavy infantry unit (which equal to line infantry spam) or light infantry unit (which equal to militia spam). It differs with your playstyle but I lean to the Line infantry more.
5. By then, you can finish the conquest in only 40ish turns which means faster medal farming
