Is this skill worth it, as it seems to only be useful for conquest. If not, then what skill should you give Konev and Guderian other than Rumor

Chances are, Guderian is usually found mowing down on enemies near some cities/forts so I might as well let him crack some cities/forts. Arty, IMO, is supposed to be used to crack forts & cities, so why not make it easier by giving him Explosives? As for Mechanist, I feel that it's less useful for Konev because he's NOT supposed to be damaged in the first place. As for Guderian, upgrade Blitzkrieg to lvl 5 & slap the medal on him and you get (almost) guaranteed counterattack avoidance.

I noticed that on Choe it is quite great. It also works when you attack unlike in wc3, and it will be useful for both campaign and conquest.

I agree with Explosives, but with Guderian I stuck Crossfire on for the moment since I can't upgrade Blitzkreig

some argue that mechanist on Graziani really makes a difference. Imo, it is not useful on tank generals, but more so on submarine(depot) and artillery generals with relatively low health, so as to keep their damage output as high as possible by ensuring they maintain more than half hp.

Imo only on artillery. On infantry generals, they usually don’t have enough space for explosives so why let them heal? Subs have a crap ton of hp at max level. Plus they don’t take damage in retaliation. They can serve well enough without it imo. Plus ship depot is useless on other ships. Artillery on the otherhand you can only really stick that skill on konev as he is the only real general that can get away with it (as he has precision artillery leader and rumor plus another slot). So imo, only on konev is it good. Everyone else doesn’t need it. Konev with maxed out machinist can fight forever

Donitz on submarines always gets hit by missiles, and his ship depot helps him get past half hp pretty fast when I make him retreat

You can replace skills when playing a campaign i switch the skill when the general is low on health left him on a city and set a field Hospital there, once he is ready for action go back to HQ and switch his skill, but you must have a good amount of medals to do this and select your best generals for this skill, works better on 1980 scenarios and conquests.
