I’ve been scrolling through the posts that talk about 1798 and the best civs for a two star victory. I’ve seen that Prussia and Naples are the two best for two star victory. I have Wellesey w/ ambulance, Martin, and the three free generals (Plus an extra ambulance that I haven’t given to anyone because I don’t have enough medals to upgrade Martin or Gates to Major) I’ve been really struggling with both civs. I started out really well with Naples and destroyed Italy in 6 turns, I moved unto assisting HRE with France while sending protocols to Prussia, Sweden, Russia, and the Ottomans. By turn 20, the tides of the war had turned and HRE was pushed back and had almost no forces and no resources, the Ottomans paid no mind to the Russians and crushed HRE. I stopped after this because Russia wasn’t faring well, Portugal had gotten destroyed, GB lost all of it’s cities outside of the Isles, and Sweden got destroyed. I tried again with Prussia, started out great, protocoled Russia, Ottomans, Denmark, and constantly gave resources to HRE, Naples, Sweden, and for the first 25 turns we had pushed France back to the original borders and Denmark was nearly destroyed besides Bergen and Oslo (I think, I made that up), After HRE started to fall short on resources and the ottomans began to attack, HRE fell quick, and Portugal was destroyed and Spain began sending troops to GB and to fight in CE. By turn 30, HRE was practically destroyed, Denmark had gotten back all of it’s cities, Sardinia was nearly destroyed, Italy retook Rome, the game was switching hands. Am I doing my protocols wrong? Are my generals not good enough? Am I choosing the wrong civs? Any help? Thanks

You should try Denmark or Sweden. Once Scandinavia is fully conquered, either country are in a good position to hit the flanks of the main front from the north to build up a snowball to end the game.

I wouldn't try and help your allies so much. I never donate resources directly to my allies except in 1812, and only 2 or 3 protocols should be enough for 1798. Your resources would be much better spent conquering and drawing enemy attention to keep some burden off of your friends. Portugal gets beaten by Spain usually around turn 20 so don't get too disappointed by that.
Naples and Prussia used to be really easy but unfortunately as a side effect of Sardinia getting nerfed the coalition side is considerably weaker in 1798. Denmark would probably be easier, just protocol Russia and Prussia once or twice. France should be able to handle the rest. Just be sure to declare war on Sardinia on turn 1.

Alright, thanks everyone, I’ll try Denmark lol Btw I made an account but it says it’s pending Danbomo is the username Play as Denmark, DECLARE WAR ON SARDINIA TURN 1 (very very important) and lend lease the netherlands to make sure they don’t collapse, and also poland if you need help invading Russia. As for denmark, just push from Norway. If you Lend Lease Netherlands a lot, Prussia won’t be an issue, and poland will help push prussia and austria from the other side (joins turn 7). Good luck man

Finally finished, Turn 78 I think, Thanks!! I had a pretty slow start, but I eventually conquered Sweden. Russia was the greatest challenge because right as I took Helsinki, 3 gens and a couple of art were waiting right there
