How important is it to upgrade a general’s title + rank? Currently I have a Duke Wellesey, but I don’t know if I should go to a Major general

How important is it to upgrade a general’s title + rank? Currently I have a Duke Wellesey, but I don’t know if I should go to a Major general Both are important to upgrading your gens. Titles gives extra battle ability and defense multiplier, while ranks give extra hp and item slots. Rank is harder to upgrade as it costs medals, while titles mainly cost gold and the silver/gold medals. Major general is an important rank breakpoint to hit to access the 2nd item slot. Prince is an important rank breakpoint to hit to access lvl 5 on skills. I don’t recommend upgrading Wellesley as there are way better infantry generals available. |

I’ve been doing quite a few 1798’s the past couple of days so I’ve begun to accumulate medals from that, I mistakenly bought a second ambulance, but it’s come in handy. I bought Wellesey before I read a lot of reviews, he’s good and he gets the job done but he’s not the best, and I have Martin who gets a lot of hate, and I second that hate because he doesn’t do hardly any damage vs buildings or units so

Go with Wellesley. He has high stats and quite good skills including terrain. Not the best gen, yes, but among the most strongest for sure. As soon as You already have him, spend Your. medals for Cavalry gen.
I completed game with him without any problem. Just add Karl into Your team to have aura infantry gen to buff Wellington and he is a god in mountains.

Morale increased after someone finally understood Wellesley’s importance in Endgame Well, as far as I remember andrei never said a single dirty word  about Wellington and I'm sure he is a good general, definitely no worse than Bolivar or Garibaldi... The question is whether players who purchase generals for real money should have more than that or not... I think they should (otherwise where is the common sense  ). |
