Classy dude. He is free, and he is friggin' easy to get, so I am not complaining.

This is the last free guy I have in my ranks now, being ennobled to a prince, does it viable to make him major general as well?

Started playing this game, so far has been much more F2P friendly than WC4. I completed the second mission of the Declaration of Independence and Jourdan appeared as a free general available for “purchase”. From what I’ve read, he’s worth keeping, at least until I get a great roster. Is he really worth keeping until then?

No reason to sell him until you have filled up all 8 of your slots. Give him the ambulance item and he will be unkillable. I recommend also giving both gates and falsen a promotion once you get them, and then a healing item. You are going to have to buy those same healing items anyway, and it will help you have sufficiently strong generals so you can save up for murat.

You get gates after beating the very last american mission (which is pretty challenging). You also get falsen from the first canadian mission (once again, it is a bit hard too).

Is it among the harder ones?

Look out for westward expansion, napoleonic invasion of russia (french), and european conqueror (french) campaigns as they are pretty hard. But once you get past them, a good team with good tech will make the campaign relatively easy till german reunification

Admiral Jones seems to die rather easily due to Hood and Jervis.

I’m serious, Jourdan looks beautiful in his picture.

Both hood and jervis are are in the top 5 navy generals in the game so that is no surpirse. Samuel Hood and John Jervis were also close friends of Horatio Nelson, it seems. Hood was Nelson’s mentor and Jervis was Nelson's protector. However, in the mission, if Treville gets close to them, Louis sinks Samuel and John rather easily.

There we go! Managed to complete the mission in 8 turns. I used Jourdan to sink Jervis (Each of Jourdan's attacks took 1/4 of Jervis’ HP away), which made Hood more vulnerable. Then I used Jones to sink Hood, and then I used Jones to capture the British port to the south. Meanwhile, Clinton took out his twin brother by turn 8, ending the mission with a 3-star.
