I just got to discovery age and i only have khalid for buildings. Also cleopatra but she isnt upgraded yet. Rn i dont have enough medals even for upgrading generals but i am planning to rest for sometime play only conquest and empire modes collect literature and medals before i will be able to upgrade gens and buy new ones with medals. Will i be able to complete discovery age campaigns without good arty gen? And if not or it will be almost impossible do i buy lishimin or koxinga? Cuz lishimin is only lvl 11 costs 3000 and will cost some additional medals to upgrade while koxinga costs 2700medals and is upgraded to disc age already and is purple which automatically means that hes gonna be cheaper to upgrade. Ofc lishimin has better skills imo. So what do you think is it worth buying lishimin or is it better idea to buy koxinga? Keep in mind that im f2p player

To pay 2700 medals for a weak general is not a good idea, especially for a f2p player. Good thing about daily missions is that they are "daily"  So it is possible to hire and fully upgrade best generals even if you have problems with certain missions or campaigns... Only patience is needed... |

Only patience is needed... Koxinga is unarguably the second worst artillery, only above Columbus. Is columbus really that bad? I mean, you get a cannon general for little more than 1000 medals (but catapult sucks at first), and columbus is quite good inside of the ocean. If columbus didn’t cost medals but coins, he would arguably be worth using. Koxinga on the other hand... why would you waste so many medals on a crappy general? In fact he loses his cannot counter attack ability. Cleopatra and Khalid are much better and they cost zero medals. I feel like Li Shimin is also not worth it. Sure he has logistics, but thats all he has going for him. |

Oh well i thought that koxinga would be good cuz hes purple but nvm. Right now i am lvl 40 and i think bismarck unlocks at lvl 60-70 is he worth hiring? Cuz as i know he costs 300 literature which is pretty huge amount and has no skill for surviving

Yeah, bismarck is purple, and starts out at lvl 5, which most of your generals can’t be. (Leave him at lvl 5 though because his level 6 ability is horrible) 2. He has good health. 3. He and Cleopatra have rumor. This is a very good skill. This is a skill which renders generals on other teams useless for two turns. Now, unlike Napoleon or Suleiman, it is cheaper to do upgrade this skill. At max level you have 30% to render an enemy completely useless for two turns. Very good skill. 4. Khalid has spy and artillery commander. He can strengthen cleopatras output. 5. Since you are already at discovery, you can gain xp by farming daily missions, and you can get them on cannons quite quickly and cheap. 6. Whether you want to use bismarck, khalid, and cleopatra at end game is your choice. Since cleopatra is good and cheap at lvl 6 compared to bismarck, you might use her as your primary artillery general. Khalid might become obsolete towards end game though, both I say keep him around as spy is quite useful. 7. Now since you have 3 good choices for artillery, I think another one is overkill. Li shimin is good because he can heal after killing an enemy unit, but he lacks a debuff ability like cleopatra or even khalid. You could wait for nelson or get yi sun sin at this point. But Li shimin isn’t a bad buy by any means. |
