Actually Lan maybe fictional,like Ariel.
But I like to believe there is some basis on her bent real in some way.
Anyway,apparently ET likes her also,since,she is very good in both EW4-EW6

She has like only half of Dabrowski's price yet takes so much less time to upgrade, and is debatably better. |

Given that China was ruled by the Qing dynasty during this period it’s pretty safe to say that she’s Manchu. Though I can see why one would think she’s mongol because of her association with cavalry. |

It was most likely a combo of raiders who saw China easy pickings, being so vast armys were to slow,by the time they got there,the region was already looted,she could not protect herself against such repeated excursions Hence the Great wall 7th wonder. |
