Mahmud is a mistake. Alexander I is better. Desert fighting is very situational.
Take Barclay or Karl. To create main firepower for Your team - 3 inf. gens including 2 aura.
After that Lan.

Mahmud II is very good imo, arguably the second best artillery general in the game behind Napoleon.

Good idea but Friedrich's idea is better How shall You handle no-infantry challenges with Friedrich's way? One cavalry gen is not enough. Imo You need 3 inf and 3 cav in Your team. |

I actually meant that Karl is better than Lannes who is better than scharnhorst. I’d say Karl is a must have as you have washington. I’d get Alexander instead of Scharnhorst as you have kutuzov. That puts you at 5 generals. Sorry if I was a bit unclear with the first part. Lannes is optional but as andrei says, no infantry challenges will be a pain |

Alexander I has useful terrain instead of Mahmud's useless terrain and low chance/low value crit. He is also Emperor and he has high battle ability instead of Mahmud's artillery ability. It is also important (challenges). |

You have 3 generals left. Do not get a naval general till you have beat all the missions or conquests you could have. Then you can take the necessary steps to swap out 2 of your generals with naval gens. I would get 2 out of the three: nelson, victoria, and sakurako. I personally will go for a team like this as I care more about being overpowered than saving medals. The only reason I have Lan is because I want to try her out as I got Davout last time. Maria is there as her tactics master will melt units. Karl, Massena Blucher, Murat, Lan Napoleon, Mahmud, Maria |

The reason you want Karl is because he can multitask, he can serve as a damage dealer in much the same way stoic uses his suvorov, and he can also serve as an aura buff general. Scharnhorst is very good, but I’d still go with alexander in the final build. His +30% damage is mountains is quite powerful when combined with his and mahmud’s aura. |
