Time to make Alexander the okay proud by completing the Macedonia conquest for the Punic wars.First conquest guide for the 1 star nations, Macedonia is an interesting nation, both in real life and in game.We are given 1 light infantry, 1 light cavalry, 1 bowman and 1 Macedonian General riding a light cavalry. Closest enemies are the Aetolian League and Rome. Before we start, i'm gonna show you that it's possible to finish it quickly.
Just to show that it's possible with only 2 generals(granted those generals were Hannibal and Vercingetorix). It's also possible to do it without generals, and the concept is still the same. It will just be slower.
Although i lost my number 1 rank for the Caesar conquest, i did become the number 1 for the Punic wars in google play. Now that i have bragged shamelessly ( ), let's get back to the guide.
First of all, using the general strategy that i posted( General strategy for 1 star nation ), first thing we need to do is to survive, and to survive we need to manage resources. We are given 250 economy at first and 50 culture. 200 industry is also nice. Bribing costs 74 economy and 16 industry, which means we can bribe 3 times. What i did was to bribe the neutral nation Mauretania,Illyria Kingdom and Turdetani. Reason is simple. The nearest enemy to me aside from Aetolian league is Rome. Rome is a 3 star nation, and we can't take it down ASAP. So the next best way to take it down is indirectly, by overwhelming it by paying your allies to enter the battle as fast as possible. By allowing the Illyria kingdom to enter the war 2 turn earlier, we can overwhelm Rome with allies after you take down the Aetolian league faster than they can reinforce themselves. Making Turdetani enter war instantly puts pressure on Rome's other flank, since both Carthage and Turdetani will overwhelm the nearby enemy forces there. I placed hannibal on my light cavalry, and Vercingetorix on my light infantry. I sent them towards Nicopolis. Meanwhile, my free cavalry gen and archer will go towards Corinth, and position to capture it once the Aetolian league enters war.
Turn 2, bribe the Odyrsian kingdom. Position your units better towards their assigned cities
Turn 3, Aetolian league enters war. Your 2 allies Illyria and Odyrsian kingdom joins the battle as well. Time to damage the cities. No rush. Unlike EW6, taking cities is a lot more easier, as the enemy ai seems to prioritize attacking your cities(which is bad news if you play defensively, but a god send if you play aggressively). Attack until you engulf the Aetolian league to your ever expanding empire. Ideally, they fall turn 4.
A little segway, where do we use our culture? Go for Academy first. Why? Because we want more culture (Alexander the pretty alright is a cultured guy). The more culture we have, the more we can invest in National Technology, and we can use it for strategy such as destroy, Oration and forced march(sometimes the occasional plague and Arson). Next would Trade route. More economy, more soldiers, the better. Next would be Irrigation, then Philosopher. Get Governer after that, so we can use forced march. Go for Advanced Battering Ram and Advanced Siege tower next, so you can just siege cities like there's no tomorrow.
After that, send your Cavalry gen and Infantry gen to conquer Rome. Send your free cavalry gen and archer to help the Carthaginians with some problems they have in the south.
After that, Just send your Free cavalry gen and archer(if they survive) towards Rome. They most likely won't reach the action in time, but they're more of a safety net in case something goes wrong.
As for your Cavalry gen and Infantry gen conquering cities. If they're low in health, just add more units to them, and go continue conquering.
Meanwhile, your Carthaginian friends would help with that Mediterranean problem.
After capturing Rome, add more units to your cavalry and infantry gen, and send them towards the north, while you upgrade the cities you captured, and spam light infanty and Swordsmen. Send them to capture Aleria. Donate around 500 economy to Turdetani. DO NOT DONATE ALL YOUR ECONOMY! The other neutral nation would want donations from time to time, and you don't want them to turn hostile. Just keep paying them, and refusing every so often. You don't need them to enter the war, just keep them neutral.
After you conquered all of rome, time to turn your attention to the remaining enemies. Just keep spamming your light infantries and swordsmen. Destroy their cities. Plague their soldiers. Raze them to the ground. Force march your cavalry gen just to make their demise quicker. Bathe in their blood.
As you can see, Hannibal is ready to die for the cause. He didn't die tho, but it's the thought that counts.
After defeating Massalia and Allobroges, Cessetani stands alone. Of course, it's only a matter of time before they fall.
That's my first conquest guide for the 1 star nations. Ask questions if something confuses you. stoic is there to help, and andrei to critically dismantle your argument( ). To hhhzzzdd, if you're reading this, i advise you improve your score, because i'm coming for the top rank .
