Hello there good folks of forumland. I've been experimenting around with the mannerheim hardmode event. The fragmention debuff is quite rough and I can imagine people are having a difficult time beating it. Fear not! For I have found a solution. Bunkers, lots and lots of bunkers. You get just enough money to block off every route. For some reason the AI gets confused when you do this and sends all units to the north-east. There is a lake there which they will use to attack your eastern most city. Small snippets of units will still attack your other cities, but they can be dealt with using minimal effort. The bunkers that do get destroyed can be rebuilt. I will add a few pictures to demonstrate proof of concept. The only general used was rundstedt to defend the eastern-city. Other than him I've only been building and replacing bunkers. With doing close to nothing round 10 was easily doable. If you combine this tactic while also using your actual generals, I have no doubt you can win this mission. I will try later to see how it fares doing all 30 rounds, just wanted to share my findings ^-^ Ps: my apologies if the post looks messy. I had to use my phone to make it :')

I usually put Guderian in the middle, east for Rommel, and west for Rokko. 3 of them have rumor. Dowding on north east city to boost income. Mostly i will put the rest of gens on the west since Rokko isn't equipped with medals and west city is harder to defend. Konev and Vatutin will come to the west, after you kill them, you can move some of your gens on other area depends on the situation.
Agree about bunkers are the key to this event. Simply replace bunkers. Built rocket launcher as a backup plan if you have spared gold.
Don't forget about Timoshenko, once he shout something, enemies will get high morale boost. Simply kill Timo with air attack, to reduce all enemies' morale.

splendid! that means that even for early to mid game players the strategy is viable. For the hardmode I sadly do think that strong generals are a requirement, but it is hardmode for a reason so can't really complain too much about that haha

Production and stronghold construction are the keys to 30 round Line defense challenges. I use 3-4 resource production/air general hybrids which not only allow me to build as needed, but also permit me to place my remaining and best generals on elite units. Field hospital and Medic is also deployed to heal rotated units.

I did this today for the first time in awhile with fragmentation, and wow, this is definitely difficult.

My best result on hard is 23 turns so far. I guess two generals with economic skills can turn the table, but I am not sure it is a good investment at the moment.

Well, i use Rundstedt with Air force leader and economy, Chennault with carpet bombing and industry, Dowding with technology and sometimes Yamamoto whom I used to use with added tech and industry, before I acquired Chennault. (Ill likely return Yamamoto to more belligerent skills when the time is right, now that i have Chennault).
I use my air gens in cities for production and whittle away enemy medics, and Chennault to debuff enemy Gens. The additional economy, and industry help with fortifications, Air campaigns and affording elite units for my best Generals (Simo, Guderian, Manstein, Kluge, Konev, Montgomery for his Elastic Defense Skill and sometimes some other like Leeb, Rommel, etc.).
Hope this helps all to reach those 30 rounds and receive the hard earned rewards.
Btw, what is Guru Profile?🤔😊
